Replacement exhaust that will bypass heat exchangers
Hi all. I'm looking to get rid of my rotten heat exchangers and replace them with a 'straight-through' exhaust that'll connect directly to the existing silencer. Sorry, I'm probably not using the correct terms there. Anyway, I posted a similar question a few years ago and someone did say they had do...

Know a good technique for sanding inside the rear vents?
My van's previous owner sprayed the whole thing black with no surface prep. I've sanded all this off apart from inside the rear vents which are a pain to get to. Does anyone know a good technique for this job?

Should there be more fuel in the filter than this?
Hi everyone. I've been having trouble getting my T25 started and running well. Having checked the fuel line I found there was no fuel in the filter. I put some fuel in (it was low and had been sat on a forward slope), sucked the petrol through and fitted everything back. I managed to get it started ...

Re: Help/Advice needed, van needs £1000 welding done
You need to inform VOSA ASAP. I did this when I found we had a dodgy MOT on our van and because we'd waited too long, they couldn't check it. I think it's a very short period of time too.

Re: Fixing ignition barrel/switch
Several wires to ignition switch and normally two stages, stage one is igntion on and stage two is a temporary stage of cranking. how many wires to the push button and what colour? does the push button just crank the engine? If so how do you get from off to ignition on, different switch perhaps or ...

Fixing ignition barrel/switch
Hello there. At some point, someone installed a push button to start my van. I'm assuming this was because they felt it easier than fixing the ignition. I don't know that it was ever broken, but assuming it is, is it likely to be a worn barrel or the switch? I've checked the wiki articles for both a...

Re: Can anyone recommend a bodyshop around Oxfordshire?
Thank you
I've seen that advert myself I think. Certainly the zinc coating sounds familiar.

Can anyone recommend a bodyshop around Oxfordshire?
Hello. I'm on the hunt for a good bodyshop around Oxfordshire to replace some panels for me. I don't mind travelling further afield if required. I've bought both 'tall' rear arches and the lower side panel. There is also some work needs doing to the inside floor but I'll know more about that when I'...

Thanks. Seems a bit agricultural, I'm surprised no one has come up with something specific for the job.

How exactly do you get into the roof bed on a pop-top?
I don't have one but am looking at a spaceroofs Westy conversion. My question is, how do you get in the damn things? They look too high to climb into and I've seen very few ladders for the job. The Westy conversion especially looks even more difficult because your feet go at the back, therefore ther...

Re: Fitting Mercedes alloys with M12 holes
I think this answers my questions re the photo: "Standard steel wheels are designed obviously for their application, so you will notice that between the bolt holes on the wheels there are some raised areas, these are for clearance for the small bolts that locate the rear brake drum. When fittin...

Fitting Mercedes alloys with M12 holes
I bought some Merc wheels at Busfest that had "come straight of a T25", only to find they were M12 holes. I'm prepared to drill them out to 14mm and I've worked out the longer bolts I need (I think), however something is puzzling me. I took them to get fitted before I realised the holes we...

Re: Are heat exchangers necessary?
Thanks. The main reason for not wanting to replace them is the cost but surely fitting an alternative exhaust is just as expensive? I'm not likely to use the van in the winter but wet people in the cabin soon steams up the windows.

Are heat exchangers necessary?
I've got a 2.0l air cooled motor with two ruined heat exchangers. As I understand it, their purpose is to transfer heat from the engine to the cab but also to cool the engine in the process. Can they be removed completely?
