Re: Thermo mats
do they make much difference when you've got the double glazing anyway? I've got an external Silver Screen for the front, but never felt the need to insulate the rear as well.....

Good garages for servicing 1.6td near Bristol?
Anyone recommend a garage to get my 1.6td Westy serviced in and around Bristol?
I'm happy to go a bit further afield - I'd take it to Brickwerks, but it's too close to the inlaws!
I just want to use someone who really knows the JX engine.

Re: gear selector
look at the linkage under the lever - turns out my inability to get 2nd was worn plastic guides on the selector.

Re: westy poptops
my g plate 1990 westy has the earlier roof. it's a joker, so is the correct spec, and I have the original sales invoice in Belgium in 1990.
but there was no joker by 1990 - it was Atlantic and California by then. i prefer the earlier roof - i like shoving stuff up there.

Re: Will these alloys fit straight on my van ???
I've got a set of these with 205/65 R16's fitted. I've had the holes drilled out to 14mm as well. Are you really saying that they don't need the longer studs? And do they just need a 6mm spacer on the front? If you use a spacer on the back to fill the arches better, what size spacer is best, so that...

You can get a Fiamma rack new, or a second hand Paulchen. Both work really well. I've got a 4 bike Paulchen and I love it.

Re: Ebay Mercedes Wheels
you'll need to drill out the 5 holes to 14mm. and fit longer studs, and most likely spacers too.
