Thanks to the fantastic community here, I was messaged last night by Andy Simpson who said he had an injector I could have. I went to pick it up off him today and he gave it to me for free! The problem is now cured and the van pulls like a train again. So, this is a public thank you to Andy - you're...

Fuel injectors for a 2.1 DJ - same as other cars?

Typical, my Caravelle, which has run faultlessly until the time I try to sell it, has developed a problem. One of the injectors has packed up - I need a replacement, and quickly! On the off chance that my local car part place hasn't got the Caravelle listed, can anyone tell me if the injectors were ...

It should flash for a few seconds when starting up, and then it should stay off. If it starts flashing again, it means there's not enough coolant (or the coolant level sensor or its wiring is dodgy). Turning the engine off and restarting might make it go out. First, check there's enough coolant and ...

I got a cab carpet at Dubfreeze for my T25 for £15, and the walkthrough bit was £5.

Pretty decent quality too.

Mine wouldn't start a while back... It was acting as though it was damp, but a good spray with WD40 didn't fix it. Everything else was spot on, but it stilll wouldn't start. In the end I traced it to a faulty temp sender (the one for the ECU, not the temp. gauge). £14 from GSF and a 30 second job to...

Just to bring this to a conclusion...

It now starts and idles really well. It was the temp sender in the end.

The temp light is still flashing though :? I'll clean the contacts on that tomorrow

Thanks for the replies, everyone :)

I usually do the same as Harry, but when you do it, make sure you have a fire extinguisher to hand, just in case there's a problem/backfire or whatever.

Bah! It wasn't the ISV connector.

I've now replaced the temp sender (£14  ) and I'm waiting for it to cool down before I try again.

Wish me luck...

Just been messing about with it... I was starting to suspect that sender too... I'll get a replacement and fit it anyway. It might have been a coincidene, but I messed with the connector on the ISV and the engine started without any problems (Turned over twice and immediately started idling at about...

It turns over and over, then eventually it fires, but wont catch, then finally it fires and runs. Once running, it pulls like a train. No flat spots, hesitation or anything. And once it has started, I can turn it off and it starts straight away, without even touching the accelerator. I should add (I...

2.1 DJ doesn't want to start when cold & temp light flas

Yesterday and today, I've had a nightmare starting my Caravelle. It's been really cold, but it just didn't want to start at all. Eventually it fired and when running, it's great - very smooth and powerful. Starting when it's warm is no problem at all. I've also noticed the temp light has started fla...
