Re: Raptor bed liner as a paint
Whilst surfing YouTube I've come across these guys who go by the name "Team Overland UK Raptor's Garage". A good source of mechanical videos to while away the time, and they have successfully used Truck bed Coating (on *and *overs) and show how to apply and maintain the fresh look. https:/...

Re: Time to tidy my van.
Well, at long long last, I’ve finally managed to do some work on my van! It’s not been easy, so much other work to do around the home but hey, some time on my van has been good. So first task was clearing the inside of the van of its roll as being a storage of bits. https://live.staticflickr.com/655...

Re: Time to tidy my van.
Hi all, I hope to be back soon. Re: Time to tidy my van.
Thanks multisi I gave it all trying to remove that arm! The outer circlip was missing, the arm was out of alignment and was solidly rusted to the shaft. I did some damage to the under surface of the arm, non to the bellhousing thankfully but do have a replacement arm to use on the ‘new’ clutch. http...

Re: Time to tidy my van.
Little bit of an update, slow progress but getting there; After “multisi” pointed out my potential problem with the clutch operating shaft and bracket I’ve managed to sort it I hope! Firstly needed to take off the slave cylinder bracket from the old bell housing. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1979/...

Re: Time to tidy my van.
So these are the two bearings I’ve got; the original vw one from my van on the right, the new one for the conversion on the left. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1861/42924475790_2b30f01ba4_z.jpg IMG_2030 by Grandpawoody , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1866/44733988261_3298303dfe_z.jpg IMG...

Re: Time to tidy my van.
The clutch slave bracket will have to be changed for a petrol vw slave bracket, has the clutch arm been fully welded around the 2 arms, that needs doing if it hasn't. Have you got the rjes clutch bearing adapter ? Do you know what I like about this forum, there are soooo many really helpful members...

Not sure if this would work, just replacing the dial face, worth a try?

Re: Time to tidy my van.
Have you spotted something wrong :?: I bought the bell housing with clutch arm ready fitted secondhand. It was a unused change of direction project item and the seller assured me it was suitable for a na engine. I believe the housing itself is the same, just the clutch operating arm being different....

multisi wrote:What type of clutch slave bracket is that ?
It is a RJES clutch bracket that I bought at the same time as the bell housing.
It will need a coat of paint to give it full protection.
Cheers

Re: Day 4
Hi Matt Have pm'd you a full explanation of what I have done. For others here, as zinc passivated surface is a very thin electroplated surface rather than a hot dipped zinc finish, I've just gone with a high temperature engine enamel paint. I'm sure this will give a long lasting surface but it will ...
