Re: Van Cover Recommendations Please
General consensus seems to be ... don't cover your van cos they rub the paint and hold in the condensation/damp. it seems they do more harm than good, even the breathable ones. better to let your van "breathe". HaHa, if you saw my Doris, Rubbed paintwork would be the last thing you'd be w...

Van Cover Recommendations Please
Hi
Well as it says in the title, I'm looking to buy a good cover for my T25 Transporter and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a good cover or even ones to avoid if people have had bad experiences.
Many Thanks for looking

Looking for a T25 body specialist in East Surrey
Hi
I've found a decent sliding door to replace mine, thing is it needs a small amount of welding on the inside front end, but I want someone who knows what they are doing and knows the van, and preferably isn't going to charge silly money to do it.
Any help would be gratefully received

Re: Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Hi Martin Regarding the Van, I've had it for a few years, but never really got round to using it, OR doing all the bits to turn it into a proper "Camper"; when I bought it I didn't really know what I was doing,  , so after £2500 of bodywork, and £500 brake overhaul, I still es...

Re: Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Hi Martin Tiger ?, ?, Hmm Thanks for the reply, your concerns I have to say are mine as well which is why I'm now looking at installing two 100w panels. I did in fact start this thread looking at a Mains hookup setup, but Solar power was put up as an option, and it seems to be a good idea, al...

Re: Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Hi Guys
I just wanted to say Thanks so much for all of this, it really is a help, and I didn't realise that it was going to be so easy to sort out, even with my limited electrical skills.
Many Thanks again

Re: Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Hi Kev Sorry about "Oh and you keep going on about kits" it's just I really have no idea about these sorts of things, I really don't know how Watts relate to Amps and things like that as I've never had a need for them in the past. And Cov, yes it is a tintop, just read your link on the wik...

Re: Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Thanks Kev Can you point me in the direction of a good Solar system, LOL, are they expensive ?, and again where's the best place to buy ?, not necessarily the cheapest but the ones with the most knowledge and quality kit, presumably that could be used to charge a leisure battery as well ?, is it com...

Split Charge/ Mains hookup kit
Hi Back here after a long time away; I know it's probably been answered a million times before, but I'm looking to install a Split Charge kit and hopefully a mains hookup, and I was wondering if there was a "Best" kit to get. I'm looking to put in a system that I can run 2 - 3 things from,...

Re: Which unit do I need to get
Many Thanks for the replies guys. I have to admit, I really don't know much about Carbs or how they work other than supplying metered amounts fuel for running. My starting procedure consists of one press of the pedal and then turn the key, in the winter it can take 5 minutes to get it running, and i...

Which unit do I need to get
Hi I have an '85 T3, 1.9 DG, with a Pierburg 2E3 Carb, and it's always had a starting problem from cold and I've been told by a knowledgeable member from here who's done some work on my van before that I need a Vacuum advance unit. The problem is, I'm not sure which one I need, and one of them, I'm ...

New Beetle wheels on a T25 ?
Hi
I wanted to ask if anyone knew if it would be possible to fit some of the newish 17" Heritage beetle wheels on my bus ?, I believe they are 5 X 112, 7Jx17 ET45.
I just think they look really nice .
Any advice would be great.
Many Thanks
Paul

Re: Early 1.9DG Thermostat replace
Cheers Rob, Just what I needed to know *GROAN* But seriously, thanks for the heads up on that one, it sounds like bags of fun, and gallons of Plus Gas; As soon as I looked at it I knew it was going to be a B****, I wanted to change it as the van never seems to get hot, only ever gets to the first ma...

Re: Early 1.9DG Thermostat replace
Hi Andy thanks for that. Am I right in thinking that the Stat is underneath and to the left of the pump and only has 2 X 10mm bolts ?, and would be accessible from underneath ?, or would it be better just to remove the whole pump assembly and do it in a vice, Thing is I only have a Haynes  :ro...
