Re: Help! Whats this warning light? RJES wiring loom
Thanks SyncroAndy, it is the check engine light. Worked out how to get the failure codes from the ecu today. Looks like ecu is not getting the vehicle speed signal, should be relatively easy fix.

Help! Whats this warning light? RJES wiring loom
I gave a 2.5 subie engine conversion using an RJES loom and this large red light on the dash has come on and stayed on. Van still seems to run ok although it has started cutting out sometimes when coming to a halt/slowing down.

Sliding door rattle
I've got a bad rattle from the sliding door when driving, not the sliding windows as they are firm in the sliders. On looking at it I can see that the upper guide block (square old type nylon block) is loose and 'wobbles' about where it's attached to the top of the retaining pin, as if the inside ho...

Re: Went low, going back up question.
Thanks for the replies. Wheels are 16" Mercedes steels 16x6 ET 39. Tyres are 195x75x16. I've gone much bigger on the wheels/tyres to change the gear ratios without spending money I dont have on gearbox ratio mods (Subaru 2.5). This has already made driving more relaxed and comfortable but I am ...

Re: Went low, going back up question.
Hello Adrian,
Bump stops are the same, the shock covers were cut back by a couple of ridges though.

Re: Went low, going back up question.
Hello Pionte, Well, I've just put some larger tyres and wheels on and when I go over the largest of bumps on Britains finest roads I very occasionaly rub the tyres on the bodywork  I will have a look at the shocks and may well have a nearly new set of -50 brickwerks springs for sale. Pionte I ...

Went low, going back up question.
I bought the van with -70mm springs and shorter shocks already fitted. They were awful springs (relaxed I was told on a separate thread  ) so I changed them for -50mm from brickwerks. The question is, if I went back to standard length shocks, will I have to change the shock absorbers as well ...

Re: Am I thinking straight here?
Thanks Zebedee, it should make it easier to get the correct type of tyres as well. I just wondered if the tyres I'm thinking of getting will fit?

Am I thinking straight here?
I have 16" merc SL alloys on the van. Fronts are 16"x7" ET35 with 6mm spacers, the rears are 16"x8" ET 30 with no spacers. The tyres are 225x55 front and 225x50 rear. They look good. The van has had front and rear stud conversions. Problem is, the PO has fitted car load rate...

Re: Custom gearbox or bigger wheels/tyres?
Tyres and final drive together looks like 20% drop in revs, but I bet the cost of both is high? If I could get a better percentage drop just via gearbox final drive changes and perhaps custom gear sets it might just be worth it?

Using this

its about 5% over I think, have a look and see.

Re: Custom gearbox or bigger wheels/tyres?
Thanks for that Nevill, does not look like just the final drive on its own makes a huge amount of difference, just a couple of hundred rpm? Is there any other gearbox modification that helps?
