FYI the problem has turned out to be a leaking rear cylinder, parts ordered so should be a relatively easy fix.

I have used Manflowers in Evesham, they only do VW campers and are good. Tel 01386 300181 and leave a message on their answering machine - they don't answer because they are so busy.
