Re: Slide Door Middle Roller.

How much smoother, quieter is the door now?  I'm in the middle of doing mine but like you, I need to get the Dremel out for exactly the same reason..

Re: Dash Foil/PCB Options

Avoid the SHC replacement - bag of sh*te  I've bought several of their products all of which have failed. Their customer service is 'excellent' and new products are despatched immediately, however I'd rather their products weren't naff in the first place. What baffles me, is the number of comments I...

Re: carb idle issue

You need to remember that if it’s an open loop lpg system, the mixing of the fuel / air is done before the carb, and the carb is basically just a funnel ……. So jets and stuff not being used. Does prove its not a ignition issue tho, lpg would show a spark issue up before petrol everytime Absolutely,...

The pictures are of a shutoff valve blanking plug ,

I'm curious, why would you need to blank it off?

Re: carb idle issue

does it do it every time your on idle, hot, warm , cold. The idle cutoff valve was also on my list, but sort of ruled that out. ( although have a cunning plan for any future failure ) It does it once the engine has warmed up, every single time without fail.  The idle bypass 'clunks' when powered up ...

Ha just asked this 30 seconds after your post
Not yet, will change the main filter this weekend and report back.  I had blasted the carb jets with a tin of compressed air quite a few times but to no avail.

carb idle issue

Up until recently the dg ran sweet as a nut.  It was stood for a few weeks, upon using it again (ordinarily it's used every day) it started fine but when idling the revs drop so low that it stalls.   A real pain in the a*** when doing short journeys around town, negotiating junctions and traffic lig...

Re: Power assisted steering query

Thanks once again, very helpful.  Out of curiosity, what's the device in the top left hand corner of the photo?
Cheers.

Re: Power assisted steering query

Casual observation: the long hydraulic hoses required for a rear mounted pump (engine driven or electric) act as a crude radiator to cool the ATF fluid. If you mount an electric one up front (short hoses) you can connect the electric supply close to the main battery so there's less 10mm² cable requ...

Re: Power assisted steering query

The Subaru EE20 that was in there didn’t have a hydraulic PSP on it. The AHU will. It's only taken 18+ months and counting, :(  I will ask Tim Mathers (North Devon t4s) if he can send me a photo. Regards Gary Hi again, I'm now veering towards having the pump installed upfront like yours was.  I'm h...

Re: Power assisted steering query

I think I noticed it mostly when stationary and at times, it was annoying, it tended to blend in more ones moving (probably because I was concentrating on other things). I did wonder why it was not in the engine bay as most of the pipework was already in place. Should all be fixed and quiet when I ...

Re: Power assisted steering query

Hi Yes, I have. I have (hade it's being replaced with a hydraulic one with the new engine) an electric pump on a hydraulic factory system which stopped working, made the stirring heavy when slow but not much difference once moving faster. Hope this helps. Regards Gary Electric pump on a hydraulic o...
