Really?
The engine block has 1.9 stamped on it on the manifold side.
I wonder if the fuel pump is similar, and they transferred a new-ish alternator?

There are two things which control charging and battery selection etc, which makes things complicated There is a Zig CF8 box (which has a battery charger), a leisure and engine battery. There is also a ?Amber valle...

Re: 1.9 TD(I?) - engine ID, oil cooler etc
Thanks. Sound points. It has a turbo, but as I say no ECU that i can find. Does that mean it has to be an AAZ? The cam belt cover has 'Toledo 1.9 TD' written on it, by hand, I assume that was by the scrap yard. So that means I need the Haynes for the 01-03 golf, for example? There is a thingey to pu...

Re: 1.9 TD(I?) - engine ID, oil cooler etc
I added a pic of the engine.
I spent a few hours this weekend with a voltmeter working out the Zig & split charger and how they talk to each other, but that's a story for a different board

I'll take some more photos and then post them later this afternoon inc a photo of the engine.
It's got a mechanical Bosch fuel pump, for what that's worth?

1.9 TD(I?) - engine ID, oil cooler etc
Hi chaps, just acquired a new (for us) 1987 T25. Spacemaker! (= massive pop-top). Ahem, there are some issues which need sorting, I would appreciate any advice you might be able to offer please. It has a 1.9 TD(I?) engine fitted a few years back. Apparently it's from a Seat Toledo, but I don't know ...
