Re: Photo request - Early Westfalia Interior
Thanks everyone, that first pic looks identical to mine which makes me feel better. My rail is there but is not exactly the prettiest so I just assumed it was fitted at a later date.

Re: Welder recommendations in Ipswich, Suffolk
There's a fairly new bodyshop based in Wattisfield. I haven't actually uses them myself but they were kind enough to show us around their workshop and the work they had there looked pukka. Try go googling Make My Bay, I think as such they only have a Facebook page though.

Can you identify this table leg?
I bought this leg in error, it was advertised as a Westfalia rear table leg but the dimension aren't quite right and the knob doesn't seem original.

Re: Westy canvas replacement. Help needed.
I should add that that last picture shows it not quite finished. It looks a lot better with all the screws round the bottom done. A massive thanks goes to danozeman from this forum, without him I doubt I'd have got it done at all.

Only 6 extra bolts, a few hardy mates. Made all the difference, so much easier.

Re: Westy canvas replacement. Help needed.
We tried to cut corners by leaving the roof off. Turns out it's not worth it. My main word of advice would be to take the roof off. Our is a Gunzl one and aside from the initial woe the fitment is spot on. So spot on in fact that there is no room for error.

Re: Westy canvas replacement. Help needed.
It's an early type staple fitment that we got from Gunzl. We had a go today but it didn't quite go to plan..

Westy canvas replacement. Help needed.
Anybody in or around the suffolk area done this before and would be willing to do it again, for a fee of course?

It is a Type 4 engine. All Transporters are Type 2 vehicles and the 4 generation Transporter is called a T4. HTH

Re: Westfalia roof clarification/differences
Having just taken delivery of one from Gunzl I was astounded by how light the parcel was. Quality seems good, can't comment on fitment yet though. IIRC it was about 16 quid postage.
