Re: No front Demist/Heater
Strange thing happened today, the heater fan started to work, stopped and started again. I kept turning it on in the hope it would play ball. Not connected but my instrument lights have packed up again. Funny old game.

Bite the bullet and get stuck in![ Your right, but I need to plan the jobs that need doing. Remove fridge & part of kitcken unit, to sort a seam starting to rust. Other minor rust spots. Service. Replace cables. Replace pop top canvas. Buff & polish, put on stripes & logo's. Replace was...

Re: Windscreen washer?
I just had my van play an April fool on me. Late this morning we planned to take Joycie out for a run into Suffolk, looking at possible campsites. I did the basic checks, including filing washer container; only to find it pouring out on the drive. A few choice words and swapped to the car. Got home ...

No front Demist/Heater
Hi All The demist / heater fan worked for a few days when I got my van in Sept. but is now totally dead. Having searched on here and on wiki, replacement looks a real pain. My question is: Can I do without it for the summer months? I can use the fan lights to help with fresh air, and I assume some a...

Re: canvas replacement advice
Hi I would like to tap into this topic, as I'm also planning to replace me roof canvas on my westy. Not sure where best to buy it, Grunzi or VWheritage. Also if to go for the three vented one, currently have the one front vent. Can anyone help with either of the options, and advise on what sort of D...

Re: Another France 1st timer.
Thanks for all the interesting and helpful replies. We have booked our return ferry from La Havre, and a campsite at Le Brevedment near Pont l'Evaque for the last 4 nights. We will look at La Vallee and the municipal sites at Houlgate. We are amazed at the size of Brittany & Normandy & the n...

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is please?
The control unit is the same as the timer for my Trumatic E1800 gas heater. Mine is located just below the thermostat, on the side cupboard in the rear. Did it have a heater under the rear seat at some stage?

Job Done, speedo reads within 1 mph of GPS. Easy when you know how, or told how.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Speedometer Kmh/Mph-* Now With Group Buy*
No I didn't, I tried to refit the needle in the same place; resting on the stop pin. That means I need to take it apart again and position it the zero side of the pin, allowing for the 10 miles I'm out. What a basic error, it won't be the last one I make. :run Thanks for the valuable information.

Re: Speedometer Kmh/Mph-* Now With Group Buy*
Hi Guy's. I have changed my speedometer today, and must have made a school boy error. It was a pain of a job, with only one screw fitting point not broken and a number of wire that were not original. Put it back together and speed is now reading 10 mph faster than it should. I'm hoping it's a simple...

Manual needed.
Hi. I'm sure this has been covered, but I have searched the forum, wiki and other sources. I'm after a manual for a 1990 1.6 DT, covering non-mechanical; such as instrument panel removal. I know Haynes do not do one, so I got the one from JK; which appears fine for mechanical items. Would a standard...
