Re: VW T25 Panels....

Thanks for your help. Metal Mickey - I will post some photos this evening of the worst damage to the panels. But be prepared to recoil in horror at what can only be described as a "Freak Show". Fugly is not the word.

VW T25 Panels....

Hi All So I have someone who is prepared to do some work on my van, but neither of us can find out where to buy panels from??? Basically I need both sides replaced. Forgive me for not knowing proper names. The drivers door and passenger door are ok, as is the sliding door. However, from the drivers ...

Re: Gearbox.... fixed or rebuild??

Thanks again Ian. I have left a message for Aiden. Are we agreed that 1200 quid from Heritage seems a lot for a new one if it could possibly be fixed???

Re: Gearbox.... fixed or rebuild??

Hi Ian
Thanks for the super-quick reply. Could you explain that further please? Complete novice here..... is this something I can do myself??? Are you suggesting there could be something interfering with it staying in fourth???

Gearbox.... fixed or rebuild??

Hi All Wonder if I could tap all you mechanical experts for advice. Gearbox on my 1.6 diesel, four speed. Pops out of fourth and has now for over a year. Have had a couple of mechanics look at the linkage so I know its not an easy job. Will involve taking the gearbox out and rebuilding it. I've had ...

Re: Idea for a cheap and easy sunshade/awning

Comes out about 130 cm approx from the van. Big enough to sit in a chair and take refuge from the wind!!!

Idea for a cheap and easy sunshade/awning

Hi All Thought I'd share our idea for a simple and cheap sun/rain shade /awning. We didn't want to shell out £100's on a proper drive away, didn't want something that took three quarters of an hour to put up, but quite fancied some outside storage/space to sit to get away from a breeze in the evenin...

Panel work in Deal/Dover, Kent

Hi all The time has come to address the rust and shockingly bad drivers side of the van. Can anybody recommend a bodywork / vw specialist in Kent? Ideally in the Dover/deal/ Folkestone area? Probably need two complete new panels plus some minor rust work and maybe a half re-spray. Thanks in advance....

Re: Silly question - how do I get my sink working

Just a thought..... our water pump was very old and a bit manky looking, so for around 40 quid, I bought a non-electric hand-plunger tap from Go Outdoors. Only needed to expand the size of the hole slightly to fit it, and hey presto. No electric needed for running water.

Re: Interior modifications......

Got it from a remnant carpet place.... was about a tenner for enough to cover the floorspace. The downside is it was very tricky to fit, and I'm sure a proper fitter would scoff at my attempt.... but it does the job!!

Interior modifications......

Hi all...
Just thought I'd share some modifications I've been doing recently in preparation for the summer.... checked flooring and custom decoupaged Beano comic fridge... Let me know what you all think.

Re: Vendee region of France...

We stayed at the municipal campsite at St Martin de Re. It was by far the cheapest on the island, is about a fifteen minute walk from the harbour and has excellent cycling/walking all around.

Re: Weight Limits on top bunk

Hiya We were exactly in the same position as you earlier this year. My girls are 6 and 4 (bit younger), but we went for a hard hi-top as A) No canvas: warmer. B) Their bed always stayed up (not storing of their duvets, pillows, cuddly toys etc) C) When they are in bed, its closed off and dark enough...
