lol, well i'm guessing that's what it was. is above roughly where the oil pump is. is black and looks like an upside down oil filter?

ok. update.... it's proven to be a combination of things. the rocker cover was actually out of shape. something i didn't notice on sunday when doing the gasket (was dark dismal n raining). so bashed it back into shape n refitted. is now nice n snug n non leaking:) also there's a light leak, more a l...

thankyou for yr kind offer toomanytoys. it is a good one indeedy. only prob is, i can't really work on terry in the evenings as no garage n no decent lighting and also weather dependant as only got the front street:( thanks again though for the offer 8)

when you say you have more oil... is it thinner? has it water sat on top? was yr van flat when checking levels? only thing near i can think of (bearing in mind i'm more Aircooled) would be dodgy fuel pump that would cause the oil level to rise (sniff oil for petrol smell) and that the coolant loss w...

aha :D if yr not on about the circlip on the main body of the van side of the strut (just incase we have wires crossed) then that'll be why i couldn't get it off. it was fading light n didn't see a clip on the cup part :D thanks for your time

yes i have the nuts, they have a ball that the cup sits onto. thing is, for the replacement struts i need the ball part of the joint so figured the cup should come off somehow? :? I just want to get the purple bit off

just seeking advice at the moment on w/c t25 engines

but how hard is it to come by a decent t25 engine 1.9 petrol? terry's is of limited mileage and on it's way out, possibly later but more likely sooner i reckon. What sort of money would i be looking at? what/if are there any other options for on a budget with novice capabilities (ie i'd do an engine...
