How well does what work?

If its subscription based, you'll have to ask the company (i know skytag does work abroad).

If it's your own Sim card - then you'll have to work that out yourself (can it send texts when its abroad).

Re: Tracker Recommendations

There are two choices i think. Those that require a monthly fee to subscribe to a tracker service, and those that require you to do everything including installing and most importantly maintenance (and what i really mean here is ensuring your SIM card is in credit and has not expired). I have a SIM ...

Re: Best 12v on/off GSM

Cheers mate - i have asked the question!

The guy says that it is configurable (the time it is on) and the SIM it comes with will last 3-6 months without being used.

I think i might get one (when i've fixed my eber).

Re: Best 12v on/off GSM

Lloydy - i take it the on duration is programmable? I would like mine on for for an hour or 30 minutes. Also, can you put in authorized numbers so only certain numbers can switch it on? My current setup is a light activated relay circuit. When i call the phone next to it, the screen lights up and it...

Re: Eberspacher stopped working - now fixed!

Interesting. This is a diesel.

Yes, its almost like it does not have the power. So much so i thought it would be low voltage at the pump. I took a risk and bought a new pump (its good to have a spare) and the pump works very powerfully.

Eberspacher stopped working - now fixed!

After 5 years of perfect operation my eberspacher stopped working. It turns out it was the pump which was faulty. I just changed the pump and now it works again.

Has anyone else had a pump failure? I didnt think there was a lot to go wrong in one...

Re: Digital Volt/ammeter setup question

Hmm. The reason I suspected it was the cable was because it works if I connect the meter next to the battery/shunt. I'll check the continuity of the cable - good idea.
The shunt is in series with the ground - as per instructions and also stops a massive bit of live metal wallowing around :)

Digital Volt/ammeter setup question

I know a few people have installed the digital ammeters that come with a current shunt. I have just installed mine and am getting no reading for Amps. The reason for this is because I have connected my meter to the end of a 3m cable which is simply not up to the job when dealing with such low voltag...

Re: Simple 1y engine swap

As a side note, you don't need to take the box out when changing the engine. Just make sure it is supported from above so it doesnt hang down when disconnected from the engine...

It can be fiddly to mate the box back up to the engine this way...

Re: Well I bought a propex but Im thinking Genny instead.

As someone very wise once said on this forum, heating isn't cheap. Don't under estimate this statement because it is very true! Once you have installed your propex you will find out it eats gas and consumes a lot of battery power. Most likely you will have to install another leisure battery just to ...
