Re: T25 Log book change from minibus

Am i right in thinking that there is no difference in speed limits etc between "van with windows" and minibus? Whilst i absolutely don't see me needing to worry about speed limits, it was the only thing that would make me consider changing mine (which is also registered as a minibus). I ha...

Re: Tailgate not sitting right after fitting new seal

Whilst i would normally agree, i did buy mine last year from Brickwerks and had exactly the same issue, the whole tailgate was stood off, even with hinge adjustments. The tailgate would only go onto the first latch, so fitted the original back on and got my tailgate lined back up nicely. That was th...

Re: Wiring diagram for adding a wiper relay on early type 25

I think it depends on the fusebox. If you have blade fuses, then it is later, if you have torpedo fuses, then it is early.
I did mine today, wired up the relay under the column cowling. Worker right away, thanks for a great guide!

Intermittent Wiper early fuse

Hi Folks, Whilst getting power steering fitted to my '83 Van, i took it upon myself to remove the white plug for the intermittent wiper function on the stalk. Has anybody got a guide that i can use to do the wiring on an early van? It seems silly to not have the function when it is so cheaply made p...

Re: Weber 34 ICT twin carbs

Hey, I fitted second hand ICT's to my 2.0 Aircooled at the start of the year. I followed wayoutwesties set up (i appreciate not everyone likes it), but that actually worked right away. I appreciate the 1.6 is a different engine, but i think he has set ups for both. Think of it is as a good baseline....

Re: 1700 A/C engine

I put new barrels and pistons in the van last year. I rebuilt the top ends with new seals etc, so i'm not certain where it is coming from. It appears to be higher up on 1-2 side of the engine. Looks like a tinware off job, hence wanting to take the engine out to investigate. It runs nicely though, w...

Re: 1700 A/C engine

I wasn't aware of PKW no, i have just had a quick scan of their facebook page though, cheers for the heads up.

Well, i'll probably give it a miss. The engine is currently fitted to a t25, so not sure what they have done regarding tinware.

Re: 1700 A/C engine

That has been my plan to be honest. The leak is pretty small, but leaks onto the exhaust, which is just annoying as it stinks. I can't find the tinware anywhere for over the cylinders. Brickwerks have one side, but not the other. It is expensive from Brickwerks (as it should be). I've asked on here ...

1700 A/C engine

Hi folks, Does anybody have experience of installing a 1700 type 4 engine to their T25? I am due to remove my 2.0 CU due to a little oil leak. It has been running great so not overly concerned. But there is a good condition 1700 available with 40 IDF's on it at a reasonable price. I wondered what th...

Re: Weber ICT issues, possibly

Hi folks, Just a quick follow up. I took the troublesome carb back apart. Didn't do much else to it other than the previous clean ups, but it does appear to have cured the fault. It drives again as it did before this little episode. So that is good. I can only assume some crud got in from the used m...

Re: Weber ICT issues, possibly

Hi David, It is not a green westie, it's a yellow danbury. could be on fire soon if it doesn't start behaving! Yes float was set when i installed, rechecked today and still at the same setting for both carbs and at the height suggested on wayoutwestie. As an addition, since posting i have swapped th...

Weber ICT issues, possibly

Hi folks, My van is giving me a bit of aggro, annoyingly. Basics... 2.0 A/C, stock, compression is good (new pistons/barrels last year, compression checked today) I fitted some used weber ICT's about a month ago, after the van came with a single twin weber and i wanted to get twins on it. It ran bea...

Re: Danbury roof

Hi Pal,
I private messaged you about it as you had the most in depth post about the Danbury. I didn't want to badger you about it though.
I can post some pictures, but mine doesn't stay up so only a couple of rubbish pictures!
