Re: Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?
I’ve been in correspondence with Mark Pluygers of Dream-Drive in the Netherlands with a view to the most cost effective way to gain a little more torque and power for my 1.9DG T25. His view, which I’m going to discuss with him next week before he goes on holiday is to upgrade to a 2.1 MV or DJ whil...

Re: Adjust crankshaft endfloat or full rebuild?
Good luck with whatever you decide for the old girl. I know we've usually said buy on bodywork over mechanics, but i'm now wondering whether this has shifted due to the costs/parts availability and its now worth buying on the mechanical aspect instead of bodywork. At least you'd be able to drive t...

Sounds like a mare Stu, shame it wasn’t yesterday as I went on a motorbike run through Appledore from Rye as could’ve thrown a spare fuel pump on the bike if it was a mechanical one.

Re: New Amateur Engine Rebuild Featuring a DJ2.1
Stu, did you replace the temp sender at all? If so, when I replaced mine the needle now sits slightly right of centre but it pretty much never moves and just stays there.
If it’s the original one, could be a bit of air like you said

Re: Help- Low Compression & Oil Pressure 1.9 DG how far to rebuild?
Saw this on eBay, not sure if this is of any use at all - the right questions would have to be asked as to why it was removed etc and always a risk with second hand engines:

Re: 3d printing
Cheers for the reply - apologies as it's probably the rubbish way i've worded it but basically, i could take the measurements from the horn grille as shown in the first pics as those dimensions will be exact (i have already ordered one of these grilles) - i'd then hopefully be able to adjust the dim...

Re: 3d printing
Howdy All, I have a quick question from someone who has absolutely no idea as to how 3D printing works!! I have a VW Beetle and am looking on creating something a bit different for the horn grille on the front of the car. The current one looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/cZeOPHM.jpeg and i would ...

Re: 1.9 DG running fine, now nothing
I’m not 100% sure and I’m sure someone will be able to confirm better than me, but if it’s proper worn then it can have an effect I think. That said I see that you’ve changed yours, so if the timing has all been set since the change I wouldn’t worry about doing it again, unless for peace of mind - h...

Re: 1.9 DG running fine, now nothing
Slight change in my previous suggestion - could be an an air leak between the carb and manifold and also your timing could be out.
Check all the nuts are tight around the carb (sometimes even spraying around there won’t show a change in revs unless your bang on it) and then double check the timing.

Re: Dashboard PCB Replacement (CJH Design)
purely a simple flashing LED option. I already have my digidash plans and this workstream has hopefully resolved some questions so it will be worthwhile for my own plans. its now easier to design what i need than adapt something else ( usualy ) but incorporating available submodulse massivly reduce...

+1 for Climair as I have a pair on mine. They have a distributor based in the UK - proper old school business and worth a call:

They come in three different finishes.

Deffo a 34 Dat - it’s what I have on mine 👍 https://i.imgur.com/4fsn36h.jpeg You can get a kit at the link below or contact Classic Carbs: https://www.webcon.co.uk/products/c422-34dat/ Also, just to confirm that the carb number is located on the rear of the carb - bit of a bugger to get to, but you ...

Re: 1.9 DG running fine, now nothing
I also agree with the Hall Sensor issue - mine did the same about 5 years back and went from running fine to not starting and then popping. The only time i've ever gotten recovery out as i was away from home and the chap put a tester on the plugs and confirmed the spark was intermittent - it then s...

Re: is my maisie 1.9 dg slow?
70mph for a 1.9DG is about right although I don’t go over 60 in mine and she gets there quite easily on the flat. I’ve got a set of Mansi 1:35 ratio rockers, and after a top end rebuild is pushing out 85bhp so has a bit extra pep going uphill: https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=173273&...
