Yes, it's only when cold and it runs fine after the point that I would expect the choke to stop.

I recently had to swap out my Pierberg as the nubbin that the vacuum hose went on had snapped off (I still have old carb) replacement came sans choke, so have used original. I have used Meguiars Super Degreaser for many years now. A 4:1 dilution shifts the muck from the engine bay and without the after-odour that the likes of Gunk and Jizer have. I also use it at 10:1 dilution for cleaning the upholstery, door jambs, wheels, dog and anything else that gets dirty. Total...

A friend that once worked on my E30 cleaned my engine for me with a spray attachment from a jiff bottle in a 5L bottle of some kind of degreaser... he then used a toothbrush and rinsed with water from a watering can - took him about 15 minutes including the coffee and cigarette break whilst the liqu...
