Re: 1.6 Turbo Diesel - fuel line bleed help please
Sooo.... All sorted. thanks to my engine being an old passat/jetta/golf mk2 number I didn't have to loosen anything, there was a short piece of rubber fuel line coming out of the injector nearest to the back of the van with a little stopper in the end. Was able to pop that out and, with the help of ...

I have topped up with diesel but there is clearly air in the fuel line and the engine won't start.. Is there an idiot's guide on how to bleed the fuel lines anybody can poin...

Wow, an impressive thread for sure Badgerfax!
Great to catch up at the weekend, hope the cooked breakfast was up to scratch. We had a good journey back in the van. Bring The Toad to Hastings some time, would love to have a look see. J

Re: Diesel engine - oil misting from LDA area...?
Very high pressure pulses through those pipes. Think the relative legths might be important too... might be from unions due bad alignment or over tightening. Always hand start the unions on hydraulic fittings until sure running up thread true. Then spanner but do not horse them up.. nip and a bit.....

Re: Diesel engine - oil misting from LDA area...?
Yeah, that looks like it although mine still looks like a bit of an odd set up to my inexpert eyes... I can still see that getting some sort of anti-vibration stuff in there would be useful. Here's a picture of me pipes from a distance... http://instagram.com/p/qSI_5MwUSp/" onclick="window...

Re: Diesel engine - oil misting from LDA area...?
Take a look at this thread http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=133600 and this will show you what your pipes should look like. Yours are all over the place! Brilliant, thank you. My engine is an SB 1.6 TD engine code although I can't find any diagrams of it anywhere in terms of wha...

Re: Diesel engine - oil misting from LDA area...?
Are you sure that it isn't diesel? Just that I notice that you are missing the anti-vibration clamps on the injector feed pipes. From that I would hazard a guess at a fractured pipe has been caused. (Lube oil on a diesel gets black very quickly unless it is a new engine) Should be easy enough to de...

Diesel engine - oil misting from LDA area...?
Firstly, what is the LDA? and what does LDA stand for? :? I've noticed oil misting when the van is running - I'm calling it misting as the stuff isn't spraying everywhere, it just looks like a fine mist/steam but it has started to collect as oil in some places......it appears to be coming from gener...

Trip Report: First trip in the van to France in early April
Hi So, we (me, L and the kids) went to France for a week at the beginning of this month. The day before we were due to go there was sleet, rain and freezing temperatures in East Sussex. It was the first time we'd taken the van abroad and, despite it being given the once over by Resto Classics (http:...
