Re: Keep killing 12V USB chargers
Cheap ones of eBay tend to lie about their current rating too, I had some fake belkin ones that lasted about 2 days charging iPhones direct from leisure battery. Got a real but cheap belkin one in tkmax for a quid more and you can tell it throws out the 1 amp by the speed of charging.

Re: Hot start- not turning. Relay install?
Well, I've completed the modification. bit of a rush as I needed to get it done before driving the van back to Ireland for the last time. The wiring is a little untidy and I had to use a weird earthing point (I'll tidy this up at a later date), but all the terminals were crimped and soldered and now...

Re: T3 rock and roll bed?
And as mentioned the Bluebird bed requires a box, but that is great for storage of bits and pieces. Why the desire to not have a box? Is it because it seems like a hassle to build one?

Hot start- not turning. Relay install?
Hello all, Our van has a bit of a hot start issue. If we've been driving for a long time like say Reading to Holyhead last night if we stop the van it won't turn over when the key is turned. This caught us out before when the AA came out and had a quick jiggle of the ignition wire to the back of the...

Re: Starter motor not turning
I currently have a similar issue but I know what it is. More and more frequently I have to get in the engine bay and give the ignition cable to the solenoid a jiggle and then try to start it. Seems there is a break in the cable somewhere near the starter. So always worth trying a short ring spanner ...

Re: silver trim to headlights
It isn't a bit, the original grill just had the raised bit chromed.
On rereading the original post you mention a gap. That is supposed to be there and there isn't anything standard to fill it afaik.
Decorators caulk? Lol

Re: Battery charging charger amperage
I think I know what the drain is. Whilst lying in the r&r bed the first and only time I noticed a faint glow from one of the led modded courtesy lights. I think there might be a shortage in the switch. Thanks for the input guys

Re: New fuel pump and now it won't idle.
Kev, After leaving the van in to get looked at after Easter, supplying a carb refurb kit, new plugs, ht leads, dizzy cap and rotor, timing checked and the carb set up the van has never ran so well. Thanks for your help guys in helping to diagnose the problem. Looking forward to some reliability and ...

Re: Someone's had a hack at my Carb.
Steve, the part fitted a treat, the carb is now clean and shiney on the inside and out and working as it should. The vans never ran so well. Thanks for the help!

Re: Battery charging charger amperage
I thought that was probably the case. I wouldn't normally let the battery go flat, but the vans been in the garage for a week and a bit and they haven't isolated the battery with the isolation switch. I guess I have a little drain somewhere but finding that has never been a priority yet. So the batt...

Battery charging charger amperage
Hello,
Will it take 12 hours to charge a 72ah with a 6a charger or doesn't it work like that for charging?

Someone's had a hack at my Carb.
Howdy, As above someone at somestage has taken a hacksaw to the float pivot. Quite why I don't know but the long of the short of it is that my mechanic is not overly happy to rebuild the carb with it as it is as the pivot bar itself is moving with the float and it could get out of alignment a...

Re: 1.9 DG Spark Plugs
Cheers for the response guys,
Kev, i'd read that before but couldn't find it again.
Simon, Are the bosch+1 a WR7DC plug?
I'll leave the new B6ES ones in and so long as its running okay I'll change them to Simons ones at the next service.
