Re: Oil buzzer when below 3000rpm - SA 2.5

Yip, red light flashes and buzzer sounds... don't think it's faulty sender though (was not changed)... prior to work done, light and buzzer triggered when oil level low, when topped up - no light, no buzzer... since work done light and buzzer when revs drop below 3000rpm. Pity their ain't no undo bu...

Oil buzzer when below 3000rpm - SA 2.5

Good day to all you knowledgable folk :D Replaced piston rings, bearings and valve stem seals - along with all gaskets. Previous problem was oil leak, so buzzer would go mad when oil level was too low. Since the repairs... when driving for a while and slowing down speed, revs drop below 3000rpm then...

Re: Who carrys a spare tyre?

Forgive my ignorance, but skimping on your spare is skimping on safety. If you wanna use the designated space for something else, or fit bigger wheels, then rather stick your spare to the tailgate (even if it means using crazy/super glue) And then you can say you've got a modified Syncro :...

Pulsating brake

Wheels, tyres, brakes and shocks will be replaced - so that's not the issue. I've done some reading up on drums vs discs at the rear and it seems its common practise to convert to discs at the rear instead of simply refitting new drums. Is it a huge mission to fit discs at the rear or should I rathe...

Re: Failed inspection on 2.6 SA Caravelle / Where's my Vin?

A chassis number would not appear on a removable part. You've done well finding the date, Thought as much... and finding the date shows the van was manufactured in '91 and only registered in '92... which means the lady will be celebrating her 21st birthday come October! Another excuse to have a par...

Re: Failed inspection on 2.6 SA Caravelle / Where's my Vin?

I checked the underside of my van... found date of manufacture stamped on underside of chassis (driver-side about middle of van). Both front-wheel arms have numbers stamped on - seems left front is the one. Currently unable to upload pics, but will definitely try again in the morning  .

If I remember correctly... the SA vans come with the chassis numbers filed off :rofl . Engine number was easy to find, but also cannot find chassis number. I'll raise on blocks later and will check again... will give you feedback
