Ah, I see. Yes, I’ve just been removing what I presumed was an old heater unit to put a Webasto in (brilliantly supplied by Oldiebut goodie...)

Yeah. Might need to go back to the tent for a year or so and try to get a promotion... will then definitely get back into it. Sad times but not really dwelling on it - there are more important things in life. Thinking might sell and buy a project if the right one comes along.

Thanks for the replies chaps... very useful.

Looks like the split charge relay was nadgered - was all fine when I disconnected the live on the leisure battery overnight.

So, by way of some (hopefully) closure and in case anyone ever finds it useful.... I've been ruminating on this months! I had a brainwave that a solid plastic/rubber chopping board shoved in the grove between gutter and awning rail would lift the awning up enough for me to get in and out whilst pack...
