Re: Electrics in the gas locker

As I thought, a lot more helpful  😃 But I still think people in the camper van service industry should be probably gas safe registered with a thorough knowledge of applicable electrical regs & better able to advise than most sparks ( in my area at least) that might not be as conscientious as you...

Re: Electrics in the gas locker

There are no electricians that I know that would be able to quote regs referring to campers without trawling through the book. Either you are a lot smarter or a lot more helpful than they are. I was not being disrespectful to domestic electricians just trying to help out with my obviously limited kn...

Re: Electrics in the gas locker

I am not sure what they are but think there are bound to be gas & electrical regulations that cover the installation of both things in a camper/caravan. You should get suitably qualified advice preferably from a camper/caravan experienced person ( as opposed to just domestic trades person). Perh...

Re: Refitting the speedo cable to the grease cap

See if you can get it through the hole with the grease cap upside down first.

I posted that link in July 2018, obviously in the mists of time but could not work out how to get it in the wiki.

Chips & scratches

Has anyone used this type of product  https://goodsbeast.co.uk/products/d...MIn4mM9uKL7QIVuBoGAB1StgqHEAQYAiABEgKUpvD_BwE  & knows that it really works as well as they make out. I find it hard to understand or believe how they can do what they claim if the paint has gone down to the primer, espe...

Re: Mains Hook-up kit installation

Hi all, novice here Excuse me for asking but the last sentence of the second statement says to " connect to a suitable earth " Where would this be connected too ? Wouldn't it make earth on the 240v live with to the battery of bus if connected to the body ! And isn't the block connected to...

Re: Mains Hook-up kit installation

It's a long time since I retired but I have never seen a consumer unit with rcd & rccb's, so I would question whether you need both rather than rcd & mob's. Those are mcb's, they are just double pole mcb's rather than single pole ones. Thanks for that I obviously did not look or read carefu...

Re: Engine, coolant pipes & rad swap out...vs KSeal?

For me, (not in a T25) it did not work sealing a leaking head gasket, but it did block up virtually everything else. in fairness it was not a daily driver so the KSeal could settle & gloop up over the time it stood unused.

Buy a cheap multi meter & use it to identify the problem rather than throwing parts at it.

Re: New Starter Motor .. UPDATE

I'm sure I have home-start (or whatever it is called) with my van insurance. Would that cover the towing cost to the garage ? They should either repair it on your drive or transport you to a garage that can. I would have thought a starter motor should have lasted longer than 6 years & to me it ...
