Solved, wife had turned the tap on whilst cleaning!!

No hook up was plugged in. This has happened whilst the van is parked on my drive.

Hi, I have a 1984 Westfalia Camper. Today as my wife was cleaning the inside getting the van ready for summer, a loud hum could be heard coming from around the electric socket and the inside fuse block. We when for a short trip the other day and came back to find this part on our drive. It appears to have come off the left hand side when looking at the back of the van. To all who have posted, many thanks, hopefully it is the CV bolts and will be fixed soon. This Forum has helped take a weight off my mind .

Thanks to all who have posted, but just so I can wrap my head around what has happened, if it is the bolts that hold the CV, why does the van lose all drive to all the gears?
