Loud hum inside camper

Hi, I have a 1984 Westfalia Camper. Today as my wife was cleaning the inside getting the van ready for summer, a loud hum could be heard coming from around the electric socket and the inside fuse block. I disconnected the battery, however this had no effect. I then disconnected the leisure batteries...

Re: No drive

Thanks nobbyfox for the picture. Was an easy fix if you take into account waiting in the van for one hour for the breakdown truck to arrive, whilst stuck against a kerb with the nose sticking out, on double yellow lines at a busy junction. Then stopping the traffic in the middle of Warwick for appro...

Re: No drive

Thanks to all who have posted, but just so I can wrap my head around what has happened, if it is the bolts that hold the CV, why does the van lose all drive to all the gears?

Many thanks

Re: No drive

Hi Maddogs, Thank you for your reply. Abit more details. Was going up a steep hill at the time, was pulling out of a junction when I had to stop suddenly as a car came at speed. The van often jumped out of first gear only, this time there was a loud crack, I knew something was different and I had lo...
