Re: Help - Fire in me Carb, 2.0 A/Cooled
Thanks for the info Jason. I can now see how the rocker covers come off from underneath the van. Re the compression test, I did put a capful of oil down each cylinder for the wet test, and it gave me on average an extra 35psi per cylinder, but thought this was telling me my rings may be worn ?? Also...

Re: Help - Fire in me Carb, 2.0 A/Cooled
Hi and thanks for the replies. So does the engine have to come out to check the pushrods and tappets ?? The Haynes manual just says engine removal is not difficult lol.
Been spoilt by 3 years trouble free and now paying the price it seems

Re: New carbs or rebuilds ? PDSIT 34`s Aircooled 2.0l Help
Yes Boxy I did. The screws were in there but obviously had been removed and replaced. Ive sealed them up with some solid rubber tubing for now more to protect the threads as there was no air being sucked in through there. On closer inspection I noticed petrol leaking from both throttle spindles whic...

Re: New carbs or rebuilds ? PDSIT 34`s Aircooled 2.0l Help
Ta Trunkster for the reply, and Steve was my ideal choice but the van wont go 20 miles nevermind all the way to Chester lol. Would prefer to keep the Solex as other makes seem to be even more trouble from what Im reading. Yet another head scratching moment

Re: T25 Carb problem ( is something missing ?)
Thanks for the reply Boxy, I`ll have a look tomorrow when i get time.
The cable is a repair to the accelerator cable which was already on there when she bought it. Looks like a piece of brake cable off a push bike lol
