I think donor roof is the best option, although I think metalmickey has made gutter sections which might be more suitable for repairs.
I chose to do the whole skin as the original hightop was poorly done

Re: Repairing Cheeky V! W/photos
well I don't feel quite so alone now haha! I think the killer will be taking out your screen to see how far down the rot has got, what year is yours? I'll keep my eyes peeled for a cut for you if i come across one :ok Cut the rubber and keep the screen. A second person helps but managed to do mine ...

Re: Repairing Cheeky V! W/photos
Going to watch how you do. I've got the same corrosion (thanks to a badly installed Sheldon roof and 30 years of condensation) so before I start mine it would be good to see how you fair with yours Good luck! http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5522/9304159354_3eddfc33e0_c.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.co...

I have that here if you want to measure it up.
Also, might be worth looking at the old Kia Sportage. They had a swing out carrier that might be suitable for modifying to fit?

I prefer this look, and more practical too.
I live and use(d) the bus in the sticks, so something with a little more grip and little taller makes the going a bit easier (when it's running!)

Re: Cu to ct
Not that I've tried but I see no reason why it shouldn't physically fit. If the lump is complete then I guess the next issue might be heat exchangers to body - might need a bit of bodging.
Worst you can do is give it a go

Re: Cu to ct
Everything. As far as I know nothing from the CU will fit a CT, so all the tinwear, exchangers, exhaust. You would need a complete engine.
As a CT owner, I can live with it but I like life in the slow lane.
Can I ask why?

Re: Biker help please
Having looked after my wife's virago, I found that plugs are sometimes crap from new - on more than one occasion I bought a second / third pug to replace the front. Are the leads fairly recent? Could be a break in there. As for fuel, a method I used was to leave the plug out while cranking. Not the ...

Re: Replace high top with pop top?
I'm doing the same. I've ditched the Sheldon hightop and managed to get a devon pop top. I also needed to source another roof skin as mine was badly shot. Too many poor fixes for water leaks meant the so called repairs. The fibreglass and bathroom sealant accelerated the rust. If your conversion has...
