I have a 10A fuse in place so i assume 17A would be enough. The drawing from "Timwhy" above pretty much explains it have your battery coming into terminals 86 and 30 on the relay and put your fuse along that connection somewhere and away you go i would think

Thanks to all who replied I got the horn working. Beep beep!the contacts inside the steering wheel were no connecting properly as they were misaligned so just wedged them back into place. Beep beep thanks all. Next mission......

Thanks for that, will look at that cable when i get home. If its the same one i am thinking of then it was a bit loose in the steering column last night when i was poking about. If that earth cable is loose should i not still be getting 12v somewhere on the circuit though?

Hi everyone I am tryingto fix the horn on my 1990 T3. I have taken the horn cover off the steering wheel and exposed the two wires there and if i am reading the Haynes manual correctly i should be able to measure 12v across these terminals. is that correct? Sweet just about to undertake something similar myself that wiki really helped. Only question is, on the relay on terminal 86 the cable goes to the switch and then on to a power source. Is that source just the battery as well?
