Thankyou. It was good to look at but not quite what I’m after as I wish to fully remove the panel and inspect/regrease the mechanism as well as removing the roof skin and cassette from a donor van cut and instal on my van.

annoying eh.. that would annoy me very quickly at least hahaha.... could try putting your ear to front and back wheel while someone rocks the van to find out what end its coming from first. hi my friend.. yes there should be a tang sticking out from the vertical slot,if there isnt there is a chance it is broken??.. if so no harm will come from sticking a small screwdriver or a cocktail stick in there and having a wiggle.. could have a close inspection through slot with a torch be fore ...

thank you all for your helpful replies, i was not able to recheck and problem solve yesterday as planned as it was hammering it down here in czech. better weather is here now and should remain over the weekend so i will get on it and report back!

yes all vac jobbies working... but that is not for cold start on idle.. that is for when you put your foot down when cold.. it pulls off the choke to give better acceleration

yep.. always actuate choke before start.. will not start unless give some gas and will not tick over till warm.. stepped gear is making contact ok.. i operated carb on the bench and inspected... all seemed well.
