Re: Any hope for Aircooled MPG?
We normally get 17mpg from our CU with twin Weber's. That is local driving around the Isle of Wight. A recent trip to France, doing a steady 55 - 60mph saw it rise up to a rough 25mpg.

Re: 2.0 CU Single Carb
I am just across the water from you on the Isle of Wight. I use two people on the island - they don't refurb, but can provide some sound advice. Rob Gaze or Northshore Classics. Rob replaced my twin Solex set up a few years ago with twin Weber's. He did recommend a single Weber set-up, so he has exp...

Re: Claustrophobia
I'm only 5'10" and have never slept in our high top. My fear is constantly banging my head during the night on the fibre glass! Even more so when camping as I like a drink which usually necessitates a toilet stop in the night...... :D :) So, we always take a largish four man tent with us. Two s...

Re: Front windscreen leaks
Although I cannot offer help with the issue, get it dealt with as your fusebox and grounding point are close to that area.

Re: Carb issue??
Hi both, Thanks for your replies. A quick look underneath at the exhaust has revealed a small hole (3mm round). So, this will be my first point of attention. Ordered a couple of different exhaust repair things (Gungum) to provide a temporary repair. Fingers crossed, this will solve the issue - altho...

Re: Fresh air blower replacement
I am a little hamfisted, but managed to get the dash out of my T25 in about two hours. Not too difficult - biggest issue was the bolts on the steering column, but I frequently read about issues on the fastenings by the windscreen too.

Carb issue??
Not sure if this is an issue or not....and I just need to stop worrying I have a 2.0L CU engine with twin Weber carbs (ICT34, from memory). It runs really well and starts pretty well too, despite no chokes. I am not an expert with carbs, or even a beginner, but will give things a go. When running an...

Re: Rustoleum
Have a look at my recent posts on the paint my wagon sticky thread at the top. I have had no problems with Rustoleum sticking to various different paints. This included some old Halfords grey primer I had lying about. And also, some rattle can colour paint from a paint shop, previous rollered paint,...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Continuing saga but I am happy! Quick question though. As you will see from my previous posts my van was originally Marlin Blue which is now a discontinued colour in Rustoleum. So, I have paid for it to be custom mixed again. First coat went on as well as can be expected. I have flattened back and a...

Clutch recommendation
Evening all,
Well, I should hopefully have my reconditioned gearbox delivered this week.
Any recommendations for a clutch, or will any old one do? For reference I have a 2.0litre CU engine with a four speed DK box.
Many thanks
Mike

Re: Problems with CU engine with twin weber conversion?
I have a CU engine with twin Webers. It was converted from the SU carbs about 8 years ago and has had no real issues except the float chambers not floating once.....
Runs very nicely.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
First coat has gone on this weekend. Maybe a little cold but about 14 degrees during the painting. I was a little apprehensive, but cracked on. First mix of paint was maybe a little thick. The second batch was a little thin. Seemed quite difficult to mix with the white spirit and the consistency was...

Indicator clips
Daft question, but tried searching the web in vain.
What are the clips called which the self tappers for the indicators and rear lights screw into? I presume they are a std part from somewhere?
Many thanks

Re: How far do you need to drive to check fridge on car battery power?
Try putting the fridge upside down for 24 hours.....that worked for my old one .... Old 12v power will not cool the fridge down but maybe maintain a temp. We used to top the fridge up with loads of cold stuff and freezer packs when starting out. The gas would get it proper cold. So this is where I w...
