I changed all my seals and I had a nightmare doing the rear window - make sure you get a good quality seal.

Spend a fiver on a cheap voltmeter - then check see if theres 12V at back lights and check earths. Cheaper than a garage.

Re: 1.6d to 1y the definitive guide
Your right - Ive had to change so many parts on my van during refurb - just about everything needs overhauled/replaced - the throttle cable included - I added extra springs in line with cable as a quick fix just now till I get round to replacing it - I suspected others may have same problem. The kit...

Re: 1.6d to 1y the definitive guide
I didnt hook up the cold start lever on mines. I had problems with hot starting rather than cold starting so I put a resistor in line the temp sender for the glow plugs and worked a treat. Re: Zig Unit problems in North Dorset!
Thats a mighty big question
have you had a look here http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/Ca ... _Zig_Units
Could be the battery itself ?
When your driving and zig is switched to tour keep the 12V on also to charge the battery.

Re: lighting upgrade
If you decide to do this mod there is no harm in running a 3rd cable from the battery at same your crawling about under ther - this comes in handy for 12V power points etc at the dash.
