Re: Semi traction wet lead acid batteries?
Thanks Kev, will take a look into 6V batteries. They seem much cheaper, and doubling them up gives twice the available charge for essentially half the price

Semi traction wet lead acid batteries?
Morning all, we are planning on upgrading our leisure battery in our van when we redo our interior later this year. Currently we have a smaller battery in the engine bay but the voltage drops to 12.1v over night when running the propex and then the low voltage disconnect cuts in. I will be moving th...

Will these merc wheels fit?
Hi, I’m looking at a pair of R15, 6.5j, ET37 steel wheels. My understanding is that they will need spacers to offset this ET. Is this correct and if so, which size spacers would you recommend?
Many thanks

North east engine replacement
Just been out for a spin in the van and we have developed a significant oil leak somewhere. It is catching on the exhaust and causing smoke. I’m waiting for the engine to cool down so I can take a better look at where it’s coming from, but it got me thinking about a replacement. We currently have a ...

Much appreciated, thanks for the response. Any thoughts on foam density and thickness for beds/seats?

Ply thickness
I am going to replace my interior later this year once I have stripped the old one out and the van is away for its restoration. I am planning on buying 15mm vohringer ply for the units, but I have a question regarding it’s strength for a top bunk bed. I have two young children (4 and 1), and I would...

Re: Roof rack on a high top?
I have a set of these in my hightop and they work very well with adjustable height settings. I would think they would take the weight of a roof tent https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/roof-rack/roof-rack-components-and-accessories/thule-420-_-420000" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fals...

Re: larger wheels on 1.6 diesel
Thanks, good suggestion.
I'm also looking specifically for anyone with experience doing this with a 1.6 non turbo diesel. No point going bigger if the engine won't handle the hills!

larger wheels on 1.6 diesel
Anyone have any experience on switching to larger wheels on a 1.6 non turbo? I'd like a bit extra top speed which I think that would help with, but don't want to kill the thing on any slight incline as it's bad enough as it is. Running stock 14 inch wheels currently

Space for top bunk
Evening all, I’m currently trying to work out which roof I have on my van. Browsing online leads me to think that it is an Autosleeper roof but without the windows or chrome rail around the skylight. I am hoping to build a top bed for the kids but was curious how much space I need up there as althou...

Re: Petrol & diesel oil, or diesel specific
Ah nice. Saw a pretty sweet hightop this morning near the tunnel. Angel eye headlights and retro black reg plate. Looked pretty tidy. I've got a 1.6 non turbo and feeling the lack of speed. One day I might upgrade the engine, but this lump seems pretty reliable at the moment! Ended up paying double ...
