Yep l have cleaned all terminals and now seem to be all working again. Thanks for your help chaps. No doubt there will be another stupid question soon

Ah! no such thing as obvious with my knowledge of electrickery.
So stick with me. On this and I will see if I can make sense of it all. Thanks for feedback though.

Just checked with cheap volt meter took fuse out. When putting fuse back accidently popped in top of fuse and touched one next to with bottom of fuse which made them work then when put fuse in position properly not working again. So will check earthing tomorrow. Think you prob hit nail on head. Than...

windscreen wipers
windscreen wipers not working? washers and heater blower not working? looked in manual it says all three run from one 16amp fuse. checked fuse all ok. tried another fuse in same location but still not working. any ideas on what i can check next?
