Re: Autobox won't kick into 3rd
Sorry - someone else messaged me, and said to try and speak with Rob directly, and to stick up a new thread - not a regular on here, oops

Autobox won't kick into 3rd
My question/grief for the day - now I've got the gauges in to bypass the buzzer of doom, I have an autobox problem. Help please - it's been off the road for a month having new oil pump etc, just got her back from the garage at the weekend, and she behaves perfectly normal around town and up steep hi...

Re: Autobox reluctant to kick into 4th
See - I said I knew nothing about autoboxes. It's fine in D1 and D2, just when in drive it doesn't seem to want to kick up to the last gear. Never had any issues with the box at all till yesterday, had it 2 years.
And the fluid level was checked and fine, and fluid still looking and smelling clear.

Autobox reluctant to kick into 4th
1.9DG autobox Help please - it's been off the road for a month having new oil pump, gauges and stuff after a low pressure problem. That's been sorted, just got her back from the garage at the weekend, and she behaves perfectly normal around town and up steep hills, but on the flat she just doesn't w...

Re: Buzzer of Doom - oil pressure control unit
Thanks everybody - never got to sort the buzzer as couldn't find a replacement OBCU - so just disconnected it. Running quite happily on the gauges of truth. I put 20/40 mineral in it (I think), and she is now running hot on the oil - get up to just over 100. Little bit concerned about that, but hey,...

Re: Buzzer of Doom - oil pressure control unit
Yeah, I'd already read that. Pressure gauge and rev counter just been fitted today - not test driven it yet to see what actually goes on under load. I've never been able to make the buzzer trigger when stationary, and pressure tests have been good at idle and high revs. Will have to see what it does...

Re: Buzzer of Doom - oil pressure control unit
Cheers. Yep, that's the point I'm at - waiting to get the van back and do a healthy test drive - it will soon be obvious. It was only that 2 people have suggested it will definitely be worn bearing - I just don't see how (yet), as there is no real evidence for this. Fingers crossed. I may be back on...

Re: Buzzer of Doom - oil pressure control unit
Thanks for all the answers - I bought that Maplins regulator, as it was the answer I was given when I asked the question on another forum. At least that is only a £1.09 loss, and the garage haven't fitted it yet. Phew. Gauges are going in this morning. Stationary, whether hot or cold, the pressure t...

Buzzer of Doom - oil pressure control unit
1.9DG autobox. The buzzer of doom has tormented me for months - very predictable, only shrieks when the revs drop as I slow down when the engine is hot. Every time the revs drop, it buzzes. Will never do at stationary, when idling or when revving, or allowing the revs to fall, only when under load, ...

Re: Broken Lid on Oil Breather Tower
So the other suggestion I've been given of strong polythene over it and cable tied around the neck will do for now then?
Cheers x

Broken Lid on Oil Breather Tower
Hi, I've accidentally knocked the top off the oil breather tower on my 1.9DG. It's broken around the edge. Stuck it back on temporarily with insulation tape. Will this last 5 yards or 20 miles, or do you have any advice for more successful temporary fix (gaffa tape?) lol I have the old one off my DF...

Holdsworth Villa 3 gas struts
I'm trying to order gas struts for the vertical lift solid sided Holdsworth pop top, but SGS engineering need more info than the code GS9011 written on them. Does anyone have more information, an 'N' code (Newtons) or any other coding/part number. They also want the length, but now the top is down I...

Re: Holdsworth Gas Struts - help needed Brighton
I suspected it may be a bit of a pain, but not that bad, lol. Decided now - I've got a whole summer of camping to do on a budget - so sod the struts for now, and just smile and offer free beer in exchange for roof duties x

Re: Holdsworth Gas Struts - help needed Brighton
I wish it was cos they're much more cute. It's the vertical lift solid sided one with 2 crossed struts at the front and rear. I know several garages I can book it in to, and just send off for the new struts, but I'm skint after scrapping one van and buying this so was looking for somewhere local to ...
