lpg fuel pipe cut through by tinware! 2.0 A/C

Hi All Thought I'd share what happened to us in France this summer. The clue is in the title - the 6mm copper pipe that comes from the exhaust probe into the engine bay was cut through by the tinware where it enters the engine bay. This had obviously happened over time with the vibrations of the eng...

Re: Elite re-con engines

I have an Elite re-con 2,0 air cooled. They are not the quickest - expect to be vanless for a couple of months! No complaints about the engine though - still running beautifully 2 years and 2 european tours later. I have no idea about the history of the donor engine. They are much much cheaper than ...

surcharge

Hi Looking at an elite recon engine due to knackered cylinder head and general ropey old engine. I know I'm being a bit of a numb nut but what exactly is the surcharge / exchange unit thing? Does it actually cost an extra £150? Do you have to pay it and claim it back if they can recon your old engin...

propex running from lpg tank

Can you run a propex heater on the gas thats in the lpg tank (for the engine). Its a Gasure conversion. Also would it then be possible to run the hot air from the propex through the van's ducting for proper de-misting / cab heating? 2.0 A/C my heat exchangers are knackered so thought this might be a...

waterproofing pop top canvas

Ok I know it's never going to be completely waterproof unless you replace it with some kind of nautical millenium uber-fabric that costs an arm and a leg but I saw this thread on a forum about soft tops: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=8&t=219434 They talk about Thomson Waterseal ...

rozzo, thanks for the reply unfortunately it was already stinky before the oil mis-hap. The engine bay is a bit smelly so if it just sucks the air from in there it will stink I guess. Worried about exhaust fumes though. I suppose I will have to get it looked at. I've pm'ed you my address for that di...
