Re: Intermittent overheating
Thanks.
I had just done a visual inspection for cracks and that it was good and tight.
Will try the quack test in the next few days.

Thanks.
Had already seen that when looking for answers on the forum.
Checked cap tightness. secure. No cracks.
And levels ok.
Still stumped.

Intermittent overheating
Greetings. Having trouble with overheating. Needle to the top and red light flashing. Sometimes after only 3 miles. Sometimes it sorts it self out after a few minutes and Guage goes down. Sometimes not. When this happens the header tank can be bubbling and the main one cool. I have new (reconditione...

Re: Temperature gauge only works while coasting ?
I changed the thermostat, made no difference.
The problem has now grown to the oil warning light coming on intermittently also.
Have changed the oil temp sensor and the oil level is correct.
Can these problems be connected ?

Re: Temperature gauge only works while coasting ?
Thanks for trying but Im pretty sure that its not right as my needle would always be in the middle position after driving for 20min or so, and maybe creep up a bit higher if driving long distance on a hot day. But now the needle just sits on the bottom even after long drive and the engine warmed up....

Re: Temperature gauge only works while coasting ?
Yep if i coast with it out of gear, or with clutch pressed in it will creep up, but if i rev engine the needle goes back down.
yep if the van is just idling in the drive for a while the needle goes up as well
by the way its the 1.7 d.

Doka under seat drawer
Just thought someone might be interested in the way I put a drawer under the back seat of my doka, as it was rarely used owing to a child seat being strapped down on top of it and it being a hodgpodge of a frame for the seat and is quite heavy. First mark out opening and get an angle grinder to your...

Re: syncro daily driver ?
Thanks for all the feedback. Have missed the boat again, was looking at a syncro doka with nato cover on the back, aaz, in germany for reasonable money, 5500 euro. Even if there were a (little) few things wrong, that would be within my reach. Was in the process of getting a relation (who used to wor...

syncro daily driver ?
Greetings Syncro owners. Suffering as i am from syncro envy, i am once again looking at investing. I am currently driving a 1.7 Diesel doka as a daily driver and for weekend family excursions. Having never driven a syncro, I was looking for advice as to weather there is much of a difference between ...
