YMMV as the yanks say :D

Forgive my abbreviation ignorance again but what does YMMV mean?

Still none the wiser. Pity you couldn't answer me directly instead of a link to a cookie laden website.

RogerT wrote: 15 Jan 2024, 21:04 And said flexible hose is easily available in your local pet shop aquarium section.

That's where I got my replacement hose from. Silicone, nice and flexible and durable. Left heaps of of it behind the dash so I can pull loads out at the jet nozzle.

A little late to this thread but rotten luck all the same. I guess it's all about priorities now. I wish you both all the best for a return to good health.

Best regards, Max.

It's great to see time, effort and money going into repairing a cracking panel van instead of being pulled apart for "bits".

Re: Earth straps on a splity

Defo sounds like he has a knackered or missing ground strap I don't think anything is missing but knackered yes, after all it's 70 this year and it's kept in an open garage. I think the owner is keen to swap them all out and add one to the chassis but he's 80 himself this year so it'll have to wait...

Re: Earth straps on a splity

Thanks gents. Everything you've said and everything I've read points to earth problems. I don't know what IRS is but it's pretty much stock and it has had work done a few years ago by Irv's Resto's. I've encouraged him to replace and add new quality straps. I'll try and let you know how he gets on. ...

Earth straps on a splity

Hi folks, my mate on the IoM has a 1954 6volt split screen that can be reluctant to fire up. He knows the electrics and fuel are in order but even with a new battery on he suspects it's not turning over fast enough. Could the problem be that it only has one earth strap and that's from the battery to...

Re: Failed MOT - rear seat belts

No seat belts in the back could be a safety issue, somebody sitting in the back not strapped in would worry me. Wouldn't bother me at all. Less safety hones the senses. There's merit in every vehicle having a ruddy great spike in the centre of the steering wheel and child seats on the bonnet. Perha...

I was in CAK Tanks recently and they had a selection of transformers on display. Maybe worth a look.

Re: No power from Alternator to Leisure batteries. SORTED

Thanks club 80. With a little persistence and help and importantly support from the club we got there. A £5 generic relay was all it took in the end.

Max shall go to the ball, ferry booked. Thank you Club 80-90.

Re: No power from Alternator to Leisure batteries.

I think I've got to the bottom of this one. I've found the culprit under the driver's seat.

I'll post results.
