Good to hear it works at last...guess your pump burned up from running dry after dumping the oil...strongly advise a flush out and a filter replacement as the worn out vanes could be hanging around your system and may bung up the rack or the filter...just a precaution..

I had hot start issues on an SB engine and the pump head was worn out..it had been run with petrol contaminated fuel for a while...

Don't see why not...someone came to s/p in an escort van this year...

Remove the return line and put it in a pop bottle..get someone to fire it up and the bottle should be half full in moments...if not your pump is goosed..I have a few spare pumps in working order if want a cheap fix..

Common rail,the pd engine was 150 bhp This is incorrect info..the PD comes in 100. 115, 130, 150...140...170...and that's just the 4 cylinder options...there also the 3 and 5 potter... The 170 is a PD...Oh and a 105 in the Transporters...Audi and Seat have some other junk as well...think there is a...

Best option in my option would be to upgrade to a slightly more modern used gearbox...still luck of the draw but at least it can be repaired a little easier....and will cope with the immense torque from the AAZ...
