What would be the correct battery for for it. 1984 78ps 1900 watercooled 4spd.

Is 'kitchen' side the drivers side? Coz it has the cupboards cooker etc on the passenger side. Why is one side more prone 2 rust than the other? Sorry I'm sure that sounds like a newbee question. It's a twin sliding door if that makes a difference.
