Re: how much can a khayam take?
Our Khyam has withstood a right battering too. We were at Croyde during the week of the Boscastle flooding and could see loads of helicopter activity down the coast, one night that week we awoke to find most tenters were sleeping in their cars, the tents having disappeared over the hedges into neigh...

Re: Roundhill
If your going to Roundhill in the New Forest then a trip to Brockenhurst will be downhill all the way there and uphill all the way back! Take pushbikes and vist the Foresters Arms there also great butchers in the high street for BBQ fare. Venture across the heath (this is a level walk) to the Turfcu...

Re: windy camping
Our Khyam drivaway has with stood many a strong wind. One particular time when we were at Cherry Tree farm, Croyde a whole load of tents were blown away but the Khyam stood tall as the morning light revealed 1/2 the campers had taken refuge in their cars.

On removal the head (its a JX TD) was found to to have been cracked in 5 places and subsequently replaced. Result; the van runs much better, ...

JX Turbo Oil feed leek
Hi All, After a 400 mile round trip to Cornwall the van developed an oil leak. After much sucking of teeth I decided to gunk off the the underside to see where it was and it transpired to be the bottom of the metal turbo oil feed pipe (oil filter to turbo). A company called Hyphose (Southampton, Por...

External Submersible Question
I am sure I have seen someone on here remove their onboard water tank and replace with an external submersible and water socket. I have taken out my onboard tank today, freeing up some handy storage, but I would like to know what submersible/socket combination to buy, as there appear to be a couple ...

Re: A word of caution!
   I hope nobody was hurt when your canopy took off?! I guess the guy ropes are supplies for a reason. Tony Nah, nobody hurt thank goodness. One of the advantages of having the bag style caravanstore is that we have an awning rail on both sides of our high top, so that f...

Just about to order the caravanstore but then I noticed the Fiamma F35 which is a similar weight to the caravan store but packs into a cassette like the F45. However it may not have rafters and may need tensioning ropes. Any comments? Deke. Read the description here http://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/ero...

Figure of 8
deke wrote:Does it work to use the figure of 8 awning chanel clipped to the gutter as supplied by JK anyone? Thanks, Deke.
Don't think so. The caravanstore has two rafters that tension the awning and they would put too much pressure on a figure of 8 rail, forcing the awning away from the van.

A word of caution!
We bought a caravanstore awning last year and really rate it. A freak gust of wind blew the whole lot over the roof of the van when camping in Dorset last week. Both the awnings legs snapped at the top. Luckily no damage to the van. :) A quick internet search when back at home revealed these g...
