Sump plug valve type oil leak

Hi folks I'm hoping someone can assist, I have a fairly heavy oil leak coming from the sump plug of my 1y diesel engine. A new plug didn't do the trick so I'm thinking it must be a problem with the threads on the sump itself. Before I go off and get a new sump, I'm hoping someone might have clever i...

Re: Bongo rear seats and rails.

Scudbuggy, I did what you suggest with the rear seat from a chrysler voyager as I wanted something robust for belted passengers in the rear. I'm happy enough with the outcome, slide seat forward on slider built into the seat which is bolted into the chassis rail, fold down and pull a board with cush...

Rear wheel stud conversion

Hi folks Apols in advance if this has already been covered elsewhere but I couldn't find an answer when I searched. THere seem to be 2 types of stud available for converting rear studs to longer ones - the screw in type and the push-in type. I'm slightly confused, are there two different types fitte...

Re: Setting timing on 1Y / Exhaust Manifolds

Just putting up this in case someone has the same issue as me and searches.

Big thanks to pete abbot who suggested removing injector no. 4 and sticking a stiff wire down to feel when the piston is tdc. I found I had to remove the glowplug too.

worked well for me and timing is lined up.

Re: Setting timing on 1Y / Exhaust Manifolds

Oh and your spigot bearing is hanging out of the flywheel. Push it in (flush I think). safe to say i should ignore the marking on the flywheel and try to get a proper dead centre that way?? makes sense to me. one of the kind lads on this forum pm'd me to say to insert a wire into injector 4 and fee...

Sincere thanks in advance for any help - I hope to share my experience in a thread later when I make some progress for other newbies like meself. I'm a bit stumped with settin...
