Halfrauds have a chart on their batt shelves - your batt should be £82.99 as mine was 2 weeks ago (bought in Warrington, in transit ..)

good luck...

Apparently to most on here, the 1.7 ('KY') normally aspirated diesel is underpowered, & I understand this. It works fine for me, but I don't carry huge weights with it. For what it is, I drive it with verve, & probably overtake as many people as overtake me. Can I mention economy? The petrol...

Mine's noisy! But it's engine noise. I tried layering the floor above the engine with sound deadener, & stuffing the cavities in the bodywork (at the risk of increasing condenstion moisture trapping), but no change really. If it's just road / wind noise that you're suffering from, I think you're...

The seat rail ideas above are good for strength - you could bolt the rails to the steel van floor, whilst insetting them into a ply + carpet over-floor to give a flush finish to walk on move things about on, etc.

On my headphones - Capercaillie.

I put a stout rail at half-height along the inside opposite the sliding door, & my camping units hook over that & rest on the floor & rear engine deck. That's enough to restrain them in normal driving, & they come out easily for using the full load space. I can't think how to have re...

Where was your van's a***/backside/bottom/prat before? I believe that my panel's on the original VW springs, & its a*** is too low, at least when the van's unladen. I'd love to have it level.

Please tell - it would be a useful reference.

I've posted about this sort of stuff before - what's the point in spending fortunes on Vohringer board when you might as well make your own version. That's 4 or 6mm ply of your choice, contact-glued to both sides of a softwood lattice core. Other parts can be from ordinary ply. Whatever you use you'...

Yes Andy thanks, I see that you're right. I suppose that they could loosen eventually by vibration and / or expansion-contraction creep.

They'll do for now at least.

Whaddya mean they're not stressed? The caliper piston pushes against them don't it? Every time you brake?

It's a well-known thing - look in the wiki article for prospective owners. I remember what a shock it was when it first became apparent on mine. You can rake out the seams & treat them with anti-rust then paint & mastic but that's only good cosmetically for a year or two - ultimately it's a ...

brake caliper (sliding type) bolts?

Investigated sticky front brake (intermittent squeak - sliding caliper type) & found that although the rubber gaiter was intact, the bottom slider pin was siezed. Eased it & lubed it w brake paste. To reinstall the caliper the manual says to use NEW locking bolts (they came out with a band o...
