How do you know if you have put petrol into a diesel engine what are the symptoms and do the emisions smell waxy?

Yes it still does the smoking bit with the cold start lever pulled out in fact ypou can only pull it out about 4 inches it does not pull out al the waydave friday wrote:And injection pump timing ,does it smoke with the Cold start lever pulled out?

Hi I have what is essentially a jx td engined van
It really smokes in the morning with tons of grey white smoke once it gets going the smoke goes away, any ideas folks?

its normally the o ring on the valve on the side of the heater that leaks, but the core can leak too. It's quite a cheap easy thing to replace, about 3 years ago i paid around £30 for a new core.
