Re: Brake Hydraulic failure

Thanks for the photo. This is obviously a much earlier, air cooled, van but, if the brake pipe layout is still very similar in the late models, then it does suggest one possible failure mode. The front brake pipe is shown crossing the vehicle by the forward spring perch brace. If the later ones run ...

Re: Brake Hydraulic failure

Multisis,
it was, and the new one is, a two part (Brickwerks) pipe and no, it's not leaking from the middle union.

Re: Brake Hydraulic failure

The fluid above the tank is appearing under pressure - ie as a squirt. So it's not running from somewhere else.

Brake Hydraulic failure

My son has just had a weird brake hydraulic failure on his van which we can't get to the bottom of. It is a 1990 2wd van with the 1.9 DG engine. On parking (on a slope) he applied the brakes hard to ensure the handbrake was holding properly, only to have the pedal hit the floor. Investigation reveal...

Hi, yes I am still about and still running my AGG powered van. However, your best bet now for information is to join the Fb VW T3 GTi conversion club https://www.facebook.com/groups/256191624580607/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=2289150777951338&__cft__[0]=AZWgzX...

Re: Blanking off the radiator

Andy, going back to your original question about how to blank off the radiator, I remember back when I was really young, that my Dad had a roller blind unit fitted in at least one of his cars. This was a sprung roller unit (ie self re-winding) mounted at the base of the radiator and with a cord or s...

Re: SyncroPendance 2021

I couldn't agree more with what has been said above. A lovely, relaxed, weekend with the opportunity to catch up or meet new syncronauts. Plus the opportunity to drive the amazing site in beautiful weather. It was a shame that Josh & I had to leave early but after six hours & 250 miles we su...

Re: T3 with AAZ engine

Maybe it is too obvious but, if you're considering changing the engine, why not go back to the factory JX engine? A good one is a reasonable match for the van.

Re: Centre rear seatbelt fitting

First off - ignore the trim - it's long gone! A couple of photos showing the top mounts for the side seat and the centre seat. The centre belt has two buckles so the the 'fixed' end can be released and fully retracted into the roller when camping rather than driving. Hope these help Garyd https://i....

Re: Centre rear seatbelt fitting

Hi, I'm surpised that you have had no responses in nearly a month. I can't offer you a supplier/fitter in your area but would recommend contacting https://www.quickfitsbs.com/index.php for your belts. Also try a forum search for 'rear seat belts garyd' as I have responded several times on this subje...

Ahh! OK Patrick.
I hadn't realised just how close we are to the Tier 2/3 boundary.
Keep safe & well.

Congratulations, Patrick.

Now that both your vehicle & meeting people are legal, you could pop over for a test run and a chat?

Re: Syncro engine swap - DJ to AGG

That's a shame Patrick. But if that's all there is to find, it's pretty good.

Yes, thanks, mine passed OK despite my concerns about the, ever present, rear hub bearing play.
