Re: diesel Leak under both wheel arches?
Cheers Tommin, interesting comment. The jubilee round the filler rubber disintegrated in my hand. Ordered a new one But have now booked her in to a garage. They didn't hang up when I mentioned her age so we'll see. Feel a bit of a light weight. But need to build up my tool kit, and my confidence. Ch...

Re: diesel Leak under both wheel arches?
The thing is, I don't want to have to do it myself. Little jobs always turn into big jobs teehee. Before I've started I think I'm out of my depth. Where did I put that number of 'I saw you coming motors'.

Re: diesel Leak under both wheel arches?
Thanks for the guidance. Think I might try doing it without removing the wheels. Jacking her scares me a bit. The back pipes do look fiddly. On the exploded image on wiki the back pipes don't look like they go anywhere. Thought about removing the bolt holding the expansion tank on. Then I can get to...

diesel Leak under both wheel arches?
Hi There, my problem this week is diesel up under both front wheel arches. I've an 89' 1.6 TD. And at first thought the rubber hose at the top behind the fuel filler cap that attaches to the plastic filler pipe had perished as its wet with diesel. But then noticed diesel under the opposite wheel arc...

Re: Installing a new gas hose (cylinder hose to metal gas pipe)
Cheers obg, Maybe I should have a go at 'careful cutting'. I don't have a vice and my junior hacksaws a bit rubbish. But point taken about old hose. I know Llanfair PG. I'm living the other side of Beaumaris. My Dad's from Menai Bridge. But I was born and bought up down south. Bit more relaxed here....

Re: Installing a new gas hose (cylinder hose to metal gas pipe)
Ok so I decided to have a go at undoing it. Removed the clip covering it. And backed off the two nuts. And Oldiebut goodie your right. It has been factory crimped. Took it to the hardware shop and Showed the guy but he didn't have a suitable fitting as was a bit reluctant to suggest much due to it b...

Installing a new gas hose (cylinder hose to metal gas pipe)
The hose to my Gas cylinder is completely cracked and leaking and I want to replace it. Had a look on wiki but can't see anything. I've bought the replacement hose. But don't understand how I un-do the gas bracket thats there. Today I dropped by a Caravan sales place and ask them if they knew. But t...

Just an Idea, what about magnets? search on ebay 'rare earth magnets'. Avoid drilling holes. The ones the size of a £1 coin are a good size. . .

Re: How can I make my van faster up hills/ motorway ?
I've had my T25 TD 1.6 11 years, am not mechanically minded and been to every garage in North London and quite a few south of the river too. Ripped off yes. The last garage I used before I moved to Wales is Chris Cross Motors. And they were by far the best I had found. Efficient and reasonable and K...

Re: Can Anyone Recommend a Garage in North Wales?
Thanks Bamba 'VW nut' sounds like the man of my dreams! She booked in with Steve at Gasure. Just have to wait a bit. She keeps blowing water pipes off. Following a bit of research on here, and on the off chance have ordered a new Darlek cap from Brickwerks just in case its something as simple as tha...

Thanks very much for that. Little bit of a trek from Anglesey. But does sound worth it. I'll give him a bell. Thanks for your quick replies.

Can Anyone Recommend a Garage in North Wales?
I'm in Desperate need of a Vw T25 friendly Garage in North Wales. Somewhere that doesn't tell me to get rid of her. One look and its ''Oh I've got a pet hate of those vans''. I've had my van for 11 years and the biggest problem in that time is finding a willing and able Garage/Mechanic. I eventually...
