Re: Fridge vent for fridge not running on gas
Thanks for the responses. This fridge will strictly run on mains hook up only! I've found that even on a hot day, if it has been running full tilt over night with lots of stuff inside, it stays cold enough till the evening when it is plugged in again. More glorified cool box. I would like a compress...

Fridge vent for fridge not running on gas
Hi All I've taken out the interior to do some maintenance which has resulted in me removing the gas component of my 3 way fridge so it'll only run on electric. This leaves me with a fridge flue and vent on the side of the van about the size of a sheet of A4 paper. There is also the vent in the floor...

Re: Sad Engine Sounds
Thanks guys. I filmed the video while the wife drove!
I did think about the exhaust but the noise sounds metallic. I'll have a good look at the exhaust tomorrow when the disappointment has been eased by wine.! My vacuum cleaner recently broke so I have a spare pipe.
Thanks
Rob

Sad Engine Sounds
Hello everybody. Just returned home after an aborted trip to the Brecon Beacons. Engine (1.9 DG), which isn't the best and is pretty worn, started making loud "tappety" noise which is louder under load e.g. when accelerating or when hitting inclines. It wasn't there when we set off but I n...

Re: Emissions query - overdue mot!
My van burns oil in a similar fashion and has done so for a couple of years. It has never failed its MOT because of this but each year "blue smoke" appears on the list of advisories. Should be OK.

Re: Rear fog light not working
Thanks for the replies bigherb and kevtherev. After an hour or so with the multimeter and fusebox hanging off and having checked every fuse present in the fusebox, I've have just had the sudden realisation that I "borrowed" a 10A fuse from the top of the fusebox to replace a fuse I blew el...

Re: Rear fog light not working

Rear fog light not working
My van has just failed it MOT on many things including the rear fog light. I've had the rear cluster off to check. With the head lights on, I flick the fog light switch. The tell tale light on the switch comes on but there is nothing at the light cluster. No voltage at all. I've checked the 15...

Re: Trailing Arms - Bushes rotating with the bolt
Just removed my trailing arm. Inside bolt undid fine and came out of the bush easily. The outside, however, needed cutting. I used a hacksaw. Removed the blade from the hacksaw frame, threaded it through mount over the bolt of the top with the teeth facing down, put the hacksaw frame back on facing ...

Holey Trailing Arm
Just got back from hols in Cornwall and discovered this. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l546/Babber123/IMG_20160730_132713857.jpg There is a hole both sides of the trailing arm. Quite surprised and thankful that it didn't fall apart on the 500+ mile journey. Its either over engineered or...

Thanks for all the advice guys. Decided to call it a day on the gas as I almost never camp without electric. Removed the gas pipe to the fridge. Just had too much to do before going away!!

Re: Fridge query about gas jet
Hi Boxy I am using butane - camping gas. The jet has one hole. No idea whether its a size 2 or 4 but there are two aeration holes on the burner. Managed to give it a clean and the flame size has improved. The burner frame was slightly bent so the thermocouple was too far from the flame. Kept it alig...

Re: Fridge query about gas jet
I appreciate the help. I have found this online: http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l546/Babber123/jet.jpg No sign of any threads on the part that the jet fits onto. I've managed to get a flame but it wont stay on. Either the flame is too small or the thermocouple is shot. How does my flame look? L...

Re: Fridge query about gas jet
Thanks for the reply I've taken a picture with a better camera and there is a pin hole in it. You can hardly see it! Might try and see if I can find some impossibly thin needle and poke it through. I would prefer to buy a new one if they are still available. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l546/...

Fridge query about gas jet
Hello everybody I have removed my fridge and units to do some bodywork and I've decided to look and see if I can figure out why the fridge has never worked on gas. Its fine on electric. I disconnected the gas pipe that goes to the burner and this popped out. It this a jet because there is a hole one...
