Hi so you think fuel shouldn't just run from the tank, I wonder if there's some kind of air lock and the pump as to start the Syphon

Hi all, still trying to get my 1983 to run properly, when I take to be hose of the tank fuel doesn't run out of the tank, put the hose on a give it a suck it runs out freely is that how it should be, the pump pulling the fuel out of the tank, thank you, Wayne

Hi all, seems to me if you do them cold your guessing where the push rods will be when the engine is warm and the tubes are full of oil, and if you do them hot chances are you'll depress the valves, , so I wonder
,do them hot but just untill they touch,

Hi yes I realise it's because no oil in the tubes, that's why I thought best to adjust when well warmed up,but most people say cold and some say warm

Hi all, thank you for your replies, that's cleared that up if the 6 thou gap is for the early air cooled with solid lifters, so mine is 11/2 turns when warm, it's obviously the starting point I'm not getting right, I find the lifters to be squidgy and you can move the tappets 10 mm if you want to, I...

Hi yes I'm doing them in reverse 1234, screwdriver in each plug to get tdc, I've done them hot /cold and every thing in between,I've gone one turn, 11/2 turns ,2 turns, think I'll try screw them in untill no lash then back them off 1/2 a turn, carnt be any worse, as I say some YouTube videos say a g...

Tappets T25 water cooled
Hi all I have a 1983 T25 and it won't run properly since I adjusted the tappets, I used the 11/2 turns, but this seems odd to me because your pushing down on the valves, I've seen some you tube vids where a gap of 6thou is used, any thoughts please,

Hi, rubber does perish, but as I say the ends of the steel pipes connect to rubber hoses at both ends , plus all the other hoses are.............rubber

Hi all, I have a 1983 1900 petrol t25, there are two steel water pipes that run under the van they connect to rubber at both ends, can these be changed for plastic/rubber, I've got a leak and the steel ones are hard to find thank you
