I have purchased a failed DK box from eBay which is being delivered to John Walklett shortly for a refurb.  Then said box will be delivered back to me and I will get the two swapped over.  Anyone need a failed box??

Re: Onboard computer for VW T3 and earlier

Interesting project TNC. :ok I'm thinking more along the lines of a data logger that would record temperatures and pressures and maybe RPM at regular intervals for fault diagnosis if I get a problem. This would need a memory card (SD card?) for logging the data so I'd be looking at maybe a Raspberr...

Re: Now I'm paranoid, sorry! 2nd gear seems tough

sounds like the synchro ring is worn, when up-shifting your engine rpm will drop synchronising the shafts, on down-shifting you have engine going down and then syncho trying to spin up the shafts, try maching the revs to current gear, you will not need good sychros (or even working clutch) at all.

Re: Bottom ball joint

you will need at least 20 ton press and solid support for the arm. Ive crushed several of support tools before I made one out of hefty 5mm stainless steel.

Re: which is better: early or late brakes?

Ha thats interesting, I have looked at thicker disk and bigger pads and it seem to me that they may provide better service. Good to know. Thanks
