Re: *SORTED NOW* Turbo and oil return orientation. 1.6td jx.

Now sorted!

The end of the return pipe with the S bend goes to the sump and the other end goes to the turbo. Had to rotate the turbo housing about 10mm to get a good fit.

Torque setting for JX manifold studs and nuts.

Hello, could anyone advise me the correct torque measurement for the manifold studs(fitted to cylinder head)on my 1.6TD? And also once the studs are in, what is the correct torque for the nuts that secure the manifold to the cylinder head?

Many thanks,

Rob.

I want to use new nuts and bolts, there’s an engineer supplies local and I want to buy a selection of new nuts bolts for all the fittings. I’m aware the manifold nuts are a special bolt as are the turbo to manifold ...

Cheers, if I do the rebuild myself would the turbo need to be balanced after it’s done?

Re: Replacement Turbo options.

Cheers I’m hoping the JX goes a while longer, but it’s good to know if I’m investing in a decent turbo.

Re: Order of new panel replacement.

Cheers Adie, I’ll have a good look at your thread. I’m gonna have to postpone for a short while as the van just failed it’s mot blowing heavily at the manifold and the down pipe disintegrated. So as it stands it’s in the back street with the turbo off and manifold. It looks like I’m going to have to...

Re: Order of new panel replacement.

Cheers, I did that about three years ago, it just comes back, the whole of the bottom of the van was done before I bought it, bottom half was resprayed and it quickly returned. Rot out, new metal in is what I’m looking to do. It seems a shame really the panels have only gone on the seams but I don’t...

Valve replaced with a new one. Much better now but not perfect. I’ll have a look at the flaps in the heater module.

Thanks everyone.
