Re: Windscreen wipers keep blowing their fuse

Not convinced by that, took it for a spin this afternoon (no rain in sight) and the heater fan seemed to be working... but I'll double check.

thanks

Windscreen wipers keep blowing their fuse

I turn on the wipers, they struggle slowly once across the screen, then the fuse burns through. Any ideas?

thanks Ian

Clutch

I think I know this anyway.... but strong clutch smell every time I pull away and the bus was creeping forward even with the clutch pedal to the floor. Clutch on way out I presume but anything specific I should be checking for? thanks

Window winders

Both my window winders have fallen off - they are broekn too. I bought a cheapo replacement off ebay but it doesn't fit. Any idea where I can get a proper set please? I have a C-reg 1.6TD. Many thanks

Best way to paint wheels?

OK - potentially stupid question as I'm a bit new to all this. I've got the stock 14" steel wheels and they have rust spots, I've only got 3 hubcaps left and they have seen better days too. I'm more into the utilitarian look so I'd like to ditch the hubcaps and paint the wheels black. Would be ...

Re: bus won't start - even using jump leads

Ha! Number one! :D

Surprised it still does that whilst being jump started - maybe a dodgy connection somewhere, I will investigate

bus won't start - even using jump leads

Hello The last two times I've started my bus it's needed jump starting... which I did no problem, I can't find anything draining the battery so I think it may just be knackered and I need a new battery. Anyway I went to jump start the bus today and it won't start - I just get a couple of strange, sl...

That looks like the one, thanks.

Presumably when I fit it I'll need to top up the coolant?

Re: knocking when pulling away

Well I dug out the receipt for the work and only one CV joint was changed, the o/s outer. But I will check the other things as well, thanks. Finally got round to checking this and the o/s inner is clearly gone, rattles and grinds away as you shake the axle. Hopefully should be a straightforward swa...

Can anyone identify this engine hose for me please?

It's a 1.6TD... hose as identified in this pic with the big arrow. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7001/6703255779_70ab36f62d.jpg The reason I want to know as it may need replacing - there appears to be an inch long split on the the top as shown in this clearer pic. If you squeeze the hose it opens up...

knocking when pulling away

Hi - just started hearing a loud knocking when pulling away, speeds up as the van speeds up. From reading the wiki etc it sounds like this is the CV joints - only a) seems to possibly be coming from the front (though hard to tell) and b) the previous owner claims he had the CV joints changed (and I ...
