Re: dizzy pins
Engine was running badly before the distributor cap problems,.. Which is why I am opting to change the leads and the coil.. And I'll see what state the distributor is in the process. Cheers.

Re: dizzy pins
to add to this.. note that ...just before this event, i was suffering from intermittent loss of power and misfire. I do have spark, but the engine runs very lumpy.. The coil seems bottom of the class to me in terms of bad behaviour.. but not sure about the state of the dizzy since the duffing up it ...

Re: dizzy pins
lots of pertinent points raised there Kev. I will need to have a closer look at the coil, but first inspection doesnt throw up much in the way of info.. it states the obvious, and thats about it.. As regards the distributor.. is the plate beneath the rotor arm supposed to be loose? i suspect not.. i...

dizzy pins
i am having electrical cut-out issues and have opted firstly to fit a new ignition kit; having problems selecting the right parts though. Just Kampers are offering a distributor and cap for £118.. but it turns out that the cap is the pin type - a later version than the one existing.. (i think the pi...

Re: Side window f^*k up
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Good advice Billy to 'use it! ' I am perhaps being too precious about it.. The plan is to insulate line and trim internally but I had not planned to make any more holes in the side! Is it going to be tricky without rear windows to do this? The outside has been fille...

Side window f^*k up
It pains me to retell this debacle but I could do with some advice here.. The story: back in january i embarked on getting some windows cut into my panel van. I didn't want the protruding rubbers common to standard panel van conversions, so I went for getting a complete cut section welded in place f...

Re: panel van conversion using bonded glass
I thought about getting a piece of laminated toughened glass cut to size but was abruptly told that I would be a millionaire if I could do it, as toughened glass invariably shatters..

Re: panel van conversion using bonded glass
My plans here are totally scuppered by a void of glass suppliers.. Does anyone know anyone who works in toughened glass who can make a custom glass panel for a non-exorbitent price? Otherwise this is dead in the water.
