Re: Finally new wheels!
That was my big worry! Didn’t fancy a crack followed by a forward roll into the nearest hedge at 30mph! In the end I found a compromise and got some 17” black steel wheels, also bought some longer threaded bolts from Brickwerks for the rear drums, didn’t fancy a wheel overtaking me either and the nu...

Re: Finally new wheels!
These were the ones that caught my eye, although there are some more “traditional” or “retro” ones at the same sort of price that look pretty good!

Re: Finally new wheels!
Hi, It’s a 1984 Devon conversion, I’ve done an engine swap to a 1.9 1y (no turbo diesel). There’s currently no interior so it’s a bare shell with a pop top, I plan I’m putting new units and a 3/4 rock and roll bed in. No plans for a water tank or anything like that! Tyres I currently have a continen...

Finally new wheels!
So I’ve been pondering new steel rims or alloys for a while now and I’m leaning towards alloys, I’ve found some I really like but just wanted advice about centre bore! These are what I’m looking at... Model: JR3 Diameter: 17" Width: 7" Centre Bore: 73.1 Offset/ET: ET35 Colour: Gunmetal PCD...

Thanks to all who have commented!
I’ve decided to take your advice, I’ve contacted Aidan and discussed a rebuild!
He seems like a great guy! Hopefully when the apocalypse is over I’ll finally be able to get some quality time out in her!
Thanks again to all who commented!

The Crack Of Doom!
Evening, So before the whole lockdown and the great toilet roll rush of 2020 I was happily (sometimes) trying to bring my Devon T25 / T3 back to life in some way. After replacing the Tank, fuel pipes, fuel filter, engine (bought a low millage 1Y), water pump, all the seals on the engine and various ...

Re: Which way to go ??
I've managed to source a decent 1Y and have decided to replace the existing one (blown head gasket & shot pump) with the new engine. Thanks for all the advice, hopefully it'll be a smooth swap over! Just out of curiosity... I read a thread about someone upgrading the fuel pump to give the 1Y a b...

Re: Advice on possible dodgy fitting of pop top!
Oh ok,
Thanks for that!
Do you have any advice on how best to re-seal the roof if you have water ingress? Is it better to use a standard bathroom silicone type sealant?
Thanks again!

Advice on possible dodgy fitting of pop top!
Hi, I’ve recently picked up a t25 with a Devon pop top, I’ve now completed stripping out the inside and all panels so I can get a good solid base to build up again! In the process (to me) it looks like someone’s taken a saw and mallet to the (what I suspect was a) tin top to make room for the Devon ...

Re: Which way to go ??
Thanks for all the reply’s! The golf I had was a petrol and had a conversion to a Passat 2 litre. In reality I would really like to do a Subaru conversion right now but i know it’s going to cost a decent amount even if I do it myself! I also need to make sure I have enough cash left to finish the bu...

Which way to go ??
So.... In the pre-Christmas shopping pandemonium after about 15 years of pondering I finally did it and bought my 1st T25 / T3! I know this thing is going to be a labour of love (I've owned a Mk1 gti before) and I have (or soon will have) no social life at all! It's not in what you'd call "show...

Re: Advice on Turbocharging a 1.9 Petrol
You may be another (of the many of late) member who thinks you can run a T25 on a 'limited budget', believe me when I say that in the long run you can't. Don't worry I’m under no illusion that I will spend most weekends on my back with my legs sticking out of the side of the bus and I'm well prepar...
